There's no competition for Shatner here.

Yet more covers that add ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING TO THE ORIGINALS.

Covers can be great, covers can be majestic, Video Killed The Radio Star didn't need fucking around with like that.

Gossip get the vote.

EDIT - Also, bought the Propellerheads album back in '98 and didn't much like them then, even less so now.

Seriously? What do you want? Propellerheads is a full on rework and remix of the original. Matt Mahaffey is a bloody one man band version of Back in Black!

You complain that covers add nothing to the originals and then complain that a song has been 'fucked around with'

I'm beginning to suspect that the only thing you do like is whingeing :D

Aimee Mann - I really couldn't be called a Beatles fan (I'm not a student, for starters), but this does a decent enough job I suppose. Not enough to get the vote, though.
Matt Mahaffey - That's actually quite impressive.
Propellerheads - Overlong, but actually not bad at all.
The Gossip - She really wants to be Christina Aguilera, doesn't she? No.
Presidents -It's like John Malkovich and Matt Frewer got fused together to make the lead singer. Fascinating stuff. (No.)
Shat Man - Incredible.

Oh lordy - this is tough, with three tracks that are pretty good. It's a close-run thing, but the Shat Man gets it.

It needed trimming. A 5000 word ranting diatribe is fun for a while, but gets boring fast.

I think the Propellerheads is the best song, but I can't bring myself to vote for it in a "covers" round, when it's really a remix.
And no, I can't tell you the difference, either. AC/DC man it is!
