No contest. Siouxsie wins hands down against anything. But did I say last week that group F seem to like the same sort of music as me? Seems the case this week too.

Not impressed with this selection, cover versions are surely supposed to give us a different feel and take on familiar songs, not just try to sound the same as the originals.

Mr B gets the vote for being different.

Jose Gonzalez - I actually quite like this.
Mr B - No, you see, this is a funny 30 second joke that's been stretched into a comedy/musical career an interminable five and a half minutes of sub-Jive Bunny awfulness. Shut up and go away.
Obadiah Parker - I'm trying very hard to like this, but no... it's just not doing anything for me.
Placebo - Aww, I was hoping Brian Molko would do a Kate Bush impersonation or something. No, I don't like the original and I don't like this version either.
Pulp - Oh dear me, no.
Siouxsie - Yeah, the winner I think.

Have you heard the original Dear Prudence? Siouxsie's version is a million miles away from that and blows it out of the water. /superardentsiouxsiefan

Nice cover, though I prefer his cover of 'Heartbeats'. It's trendy to like the original, but in fact the original is utter rubbish, so making a cover better is a great thing. Unfortunately, he's trying to improve on Massive Attack this time so comes off less cool. Still pleasant though.

Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer

This is funny and well done, though perhaps it lasts for slightly longer than ideal... then again, I liked each individual song. Well put together and I likes it.

Obadiah

Yeah, it's okay. Speaking of people called Parker, I can't believe I didn't enter Nick Parker's cover of 'Ice Ice Baby', which is kinda like this, but then goes mental.

Placebo

Surprisingly good. I'm not a fan of Placebo, and they do have a tendency to be annoying and have all their songs sound the same, but the originally dark sound of the song resonates with their style, and I like it.

Pulp
What the bloody hell is this? No. Just no.

Siouxsie

I like this quite a bit. It edges out Placebo for the win.

It's good to see Siouxsie romping it. Wish I'd picked it for my entry but I didn't think she'd be so popular.

Obadiah almost got it for me but I heard Will Young do a better version once so... Placebo gets my point.

I like Placebo.

As do I, but I already voted for that in the other group. That's the problem with double entries.

That and slapping balls.
