I know of a guy who works as a technician in the Lego factory; he gets 50% (and sometimes 75%) off the cost, but he absolutely cannot buy sets for others.

We took the kids to The Sandcastle water park yesterday and had an awesome time. I was really entertained by the amount of terrible tattoos on show. The best ones being a woman with a dagger in a scabbard around her leg, and a bloke with a... erm.. kind of a samurai bodybuilder holding dumbells. Both appear to have been done by their children or drunk friends.

Women with tattoos :spew:

It's the only thing I've ever properly put my foot down over with Mrs AE, and just told her flat out that she wasn't getting one. We had quite an argument about that.

A bad tattoo looks as bad on a man as it does on a woman. A good tattoo looks as good on a woman as it does on a man.

No way.

Women are fundamentally incompatible with tattoos.

Men have an excuse because they're basically thuggish idiots, so you can sort of understand it.

Nonsense. I've seen some great tattoos on boobies, and none were on a man.

FTFY

The only acceptable tattoo for a woman is a discrete fleur-de-lis behind the right shoulder ... or is it the left? I forget.

What we need now is for AE and Warhead to wag their fingers and state in a tremulous voice "In my day, girls were precious flowers that wouldn't dare do such a thing" ;)

But tattoos just look so horrible on women. It's bad enough when they're young but seriously, women at around 40+ don't carry tattoos well at all to the point of ridiculousness. Neither do men really, but particularly women.

It's such a bizarre concept anyway, if you found a pair of shoes you really really liked, would you be prepared to sign up to wearing the things until the day you died? Does anyone know how they're going to feel about their tattoos in five or ten or fifty years time?

I find the whole tattoo thing most perplexing.

:this:
In my day a lot of them were pretty slack, but tattoos were not as popular as they are now.

It's just a personal preference to see unadorned female skin and I think a lot of them that I have seen detract from the wearer's appearance, rather than enhance it.

IIRC a fleur-de-lis tattoo (or possibly brand) on a French female indicated she'd been prosecuted as a lady of easy virtue. I think this was in The Cunt of Monte Cristo, or some similar work of fiction.

I'd disown my female-type partner if she ever got a tattoo. I find tattoos horrible to look at in public on strangers, let alone on intimate people. But then she'd have had to had a personality transplant to even contemplate ink let alone get it. Thankfully.

I quite like tattoos. I don't have any, and the wife has one which she wishes she didn't have, but I quite like them on other people.

Apart from rubbish ones. Rubbish tats are awful.

We can't say that sort of thing since Alberto turned up.

We can only get at Myps for his back breaking shandy lift.

I ended up being very angry. I listened to Test Match Special all the way up, and got to the house, which was lovely. In the 25 minutes I spent looking around it, and really liking it, Bresnan and Swann ended the high scoring batting partnership of Mishra and Tendulka. Then, when I stopped to buy some coke, another three wickets had fallen. Fucks sake.
