Chrome's best! BETTER THAN THE REST! It's lovely and uncluttered. I admit, the UI takes some getting used to if you're coming from Firefox/IE, because options and stuff are hidden in different places, but I can't get on with Firefox any more now that I've made the switch.

Besides, there's nowt wrong with a few exclamation marks in a forum post to lighten the tone a little bit! Unless it looks like I'm shouting! Oh christ, do people think I've been shouting at them all this time?! Sorry! I was just trying to convey excitement/a jovial mood! OH GOD! I use them sparingly in my actual writings!

Chrome might be brilliant, but if logmein doesn't work properly then I won't use it, also (maybe default only) it was crappy large minimise/maximise close buttons, so when I think I am in the place to minimise the window (if I have a lot of windows open and I'm minimising a few of them) I'm actually over the close button, so twice now I've closed the window when I wanted to minimise it!

It does bug me a bit that Chrome doesn't use the native buttons for min/max/close. Also that while the System menu is there, there's no visible UI.

Among other reasons the lack of NoScript in Chrome means it can go fuck itself.

BTW, logmein released a Firefox 5 plugin this afternoon.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that virtually all my customers have their passwords remembered in Firefox, I'd move over to IE for logmein purposes. And there, in one sentence, have I revealed my awesome regard for my customers security.

Ooh, also, on my trusty Powerbook (yes, I know), I'm using TenFourFox as my web browser because it's utterly fucking brilliant! It's a third-party port of Firefox 5.0 designed to work on PowerPC-equipped Macs (as the real deal is Intel only nowadays). They have four different versions, depending on whether you're using a G3, early G4, late G4 or G5 processor, and downloading the correct one gives you performance way beyond any other browser.

For instance - get this - I can use YouTube again without it being a literal slideshow!

You know you can get a plaintext list of the passwords along with the URLs they are matched to out of Firefox, right?

Hmm, it didn't find it when I told it to install it auto...

I'll look for it, I don't know if I can cope with another day of chrome's logmein plugin

no, I can't find it!

I did get it working, but it was using the java client, I don't want that!

However, it tells me to look for a plugin, then it tells me it's not compatible with firefox 5.0!

does anyone have a direct link to the plugin?

ah that would make my old imac useful again for some stuff, (is imac g4, nov 2003 early or late g4?)

Open the Terminal, type 'machine' and it will tell you what processor you have IIRC. The TenFourFox website tells you how to correctly identify your processor.

It's a remote desktop thingy that people use to look at porn and download torrents while they're supposed to be working.

It actually allows me to work from home (I could use remote desktop, but that puts my laptop on the company network) and when I'm in the office it allows me to control 2 computers from one keyboard.

As a side benefit it lets me support Pauline's computer and her sister's computer too.

I work for a very small scale IT firm, so we use logmein to remote control customer PCs and tills to remotely resolve any issues. It's not the greatest thing ever in terms of IT security though and some of our bigger clients with actual IT departments get a little nervous about us making such extensive use of it.

Plus it lets me log in to my PC at home and look at porn and download torrents when I'm supposed to be working.

Yup. The one difference I've noticed between 4 and 5 is that when you close a tab or two, the rest don't instantly snap across to fill the space (which seems more of a glitch than anything), so I wonder if I'll notice any difference between 5 and 6.

You'll notice give that they probbly stop such frequent releases before the numbers become unwieldy. Although after its got a higher number than IE

One of the Lucid Emacs coders* recently got banned from Mozilla's bugzilla for complaining loudly about the idiotic and increasing tendency to pop up dialogs for every little thing.

* Originally confused by it being mentioned by the internet's favourite JWZ, an original Netscape engineer.

Chrome is a bit bizarre. I don't think I've noticed anything drastically new since V1, yet I bet a fuck-tonne has been added. It'd be interesting to go back to the start and see how much has actually changed.

I am using IE instead of Chrome now, as I accidentally blocked Chrome from having access to the internet, and can't be bothered to find out how to undo it.

As of today, I'm using Camino. Native annoyance (ads, flash) blocking, and you can change site colour schemes to your liking.

I'm still holding off on 6 as it says that Firebug isn't compatible yet. Although that's using the in-built add-on checker.. I've not checked if there's a separate version for 6 yet.
