I heard the song above and immediately bought the album. I showed it to a couple of other people - one of them bought it immediately as well, the other said "it's shit".

What does everyone reckons? In my opinion, their album is excellent. You can't understand a word the guy is saying, but it's still pretty good stuff. I'm going to see them in October, too. They're from Manchester, and they courted quite a bit of media attention by initially refusing to speak to the press at all. Obviously this made the idiots at the NME and their ilk absolutely froth at the gash, so chances are you might've heard of them already being "hyped up". Hopefully that hasn't stained any preconceptions.

They do all of their own videos and art and stuff as well. I like the aesthetic of it all.

I think the problem with the hyping was that apparently it was all orchestrated by a PR firm from day one as part of some grand scheme, it wasn't their choice as such not to speak to the press just part of some firms strategy they signed with the moment they formed. Who buys music on hype now anyway?

I quite like the album myself, but for what it is, it no way deserves the mammoth hyping they got initially. You would think they had developed a whole new genre, rather than some slightly above average indie rock.

not my cup of tea, thought it has something which is kinda catchy in the music but that singing is god awful. I am looking forward to Glee doing a cover of them...that will be fun :D

I think that was a rumour. They are managed by some guy from an ad agency, but his input has been exaggerated. Like I said above though, it's good stuff - unfortunately they're ripe for a hype backlash.

What you need is some method of anonymously putting that song in front of the forum, and having them vote on whether they like it more or less than other songs.

I can't think of anything that would let you do that though.

I was gonna wait for that, but decided against it. I want guaranteed winners in that game!

Yeah. It put me off a bit at first. It stands for World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation. Apparently.

That is definitely a terrible band name. I thought this was going to be a new song by the Wu Tang Clan.

I don't like it. The music is quite nice, if a little dull, but the vocals sound like someone impersonating a deaf person and make me feel a little uneasy. It's weird.

I haven't read up on them. Is the vocalist deaf or something, or is that just his style?

I think someone got him really high just before the recording session, then punched him really fucking hard in the throat.

Because his band's boring.

I recognise the name! I imagine they've played in my town before now and I've probably seen them without knowing. Pretty good stuff!

Sounds like the bastard child of Sean Rider, Pete Dochety and a midi karaoke file with none of the talent.

I was quite enjoying that (it reminded me a bit of Spacemen 3...only a bit mind you) until they started singing and they spoilt it

Not my cup of tea at all. I'm pretty certain any town centre at 2am could probably produce better songs (and singers) than that.

I used to share a rehearsal room with them btw so I speak from knowing them.
I dont like the music, its very much noise. Far too much reverb. The lads are pretty up their own arse too.
The "singing" is the worst part, too.
