I know there we have quite a few pinball fans on the forum, so I'd thought people would like to know a Williams Pinball Classics selection has finally came out for the XBOX 360. Although it seems fairly difficult to find copies in stock especially at a discounted price, only one I've found so far is £25 from Game.

http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360/Pinball/Williams-Pinball-Classics/~r344839/

It got 8/10 in GamesTM, its got 13 tables and massive tutorials for each machine as well.

Wish I wasn't skint.

I've been keeping an eye out for it - it made Zavvi's 17.99 list a little while ago and i almost ordered it then it was pushed back and seemed to vanish.

I've seen posts that people had been picking it up from Amazon.fr

http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B004XOB ... d_i=405320

27 euros so about £24

This is the Zavvi link but it changed to sold out a few weeks ago (even though it had not been released) - worth checking back to in case it suddenly shows as in stock

This looks like it could be relevant to my interests and I didn’t know a thing about it till today. Thanks for pointing it out!

I’ll keep my eye on it and see where I can get it from for cheap.

Is it better than Pinball FX?

Wow.. this took it's time coming out. I gave up waiting for the Wii version of this. I believe Malc74 has this game though so hopefully he can offer an opinion on it.

Ooh, I note that the new versions has additional tables. :)

Presumably they'll release Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection for the 360/PS3 too.

I have both titles for the PSP (and PS2, I think) and they are pretty good fun. Recommended if you like(d) pinball machines. :)

It's very, very good, and anybody with even the slightest intetest in pinball should buy it. Just a shame it's taken so bloody long to come out over there.

Thanks to Runcle, Zaphod and Malc74 for the tip/recommendation, I'd completely forgotten about this.

Currently 40 Euros at Amazon Germany, which is a bit much - so will see what the local shops are charging.

I have a vague recollection that Malc said it didn't do proper leaderboards, but what the hell, more pinball is fine by me.

What are the tables? None of the stores seem to have a list.

If they've got the physics right (YES I'M LOOKING AT YOU PINBALL FX 2 YOU BROKEN PIECE OF SHIT) it could be stunningly awesome.

Surely an obvious candidate for the XBox Live Marketplace, why oh why do we still need fucking discs? Grrrr.

Is the Twilight Zone in there? That would be so good.

As much as I love Visual Pinball, a proper official simulation would be much preferred, especially since it's 'challenging' under Windows 7 to say the least.

I'd think that if you can , then the amazon france link is going to be the best for you at 27 euros - i stepped through the purchase bits and it was quite happy to send it to me in the UK on their 'cheap' delivery option , so even if it wants to charge you a few euros for shipping it'll still be cheaper than the 40 one on .de

The following pinball machines are included in all versions of the game:
Black Knight
Firepower
Funhouse
Gorgar
Pin*Bot
Space Shuttle
Taxi
Whirlwind

The following are in the PSP, Wii, PS3 and 360 versions only:
Jive Time (Unlockable for PS3 and 360 versions)
Sorcerer

The following are in the PS3 and 360 versions only:
Tales of the Arabian Nights[1]

Also the system 3 website says there's online leaderboards and multiplayer modes.

Cheers - it's certainly tempting, more than happy to pay that, and I have ordered stuff with them before with no problems whatsoever (last one was a kettle of all things).

I'll see what Mediamarkt and the like have got and if they're demanding silly money I'll go for France. Definitely want this one way or another and luckily I'm not skint at the moment.

Ooohhhh tasty, although not necessarily the best tables they've ever produced.

They'll need to have perfect sound and music, and DMD animations for the tables that have them.

I'm inspired, I'm going to have a Visual Pinball session :D

Just been looking on wiki at upcoming XBLA games and the Gottlieb collection is scheduled for a 2011 release.

Gottlieb pinballs are shit. They were always a poor man's Williams/Bally, even Data East produced far better tables than Gottlieb ever did.

They did the odd decent table (Street Fighter and Cue Ball Wizard spring to mind), but overall, a bit crap.

In the North American release there were online leaderboards, but no filters, so you couldn't pull up a friends-only LB and were stuck with the default "everybody and their dog" one.

Being stupidly optimistic, I'll hope they'll have fixed that for the Euro release, but I'll definitely be buying it anyway. Hope your dog plays a mean pinball, as some band from the 17th century may or may have not have said - we twenty-somethings couldn't possibly know...

I had a quick go of this on the PSP last night. Funhouse is still good fun. :)

Picked this up this morning locally - it's certainly a very decent pinball game from what I've seen so far, but the lack of a friends leaderboard is a bit rubbish in a highscore game.
