So Kate didn't get the job local to us, but she has had more details on the job up in York, which sounds really excellent and is perfect for what she wants.
It's only a 6 person company at the moment, and this year is the first year they have made a profit. They have backing from investors, it's a physical product they make which has won loads of awards (i'll say more on what it is when things are more certain) and the owner was an extremely nice guy.
All in all, it's the start she needs to her career, the small company will mean lots of experience of every type of role, the people seem really nice and it pays more money than she is on at the moment.
It's too good an opportunity to pass over, and could set her up for life career wise. She has one more interview next week with the main investor (which Kate isn't too worried about as I don't think she entirely knows who he is, I won't tell her till afterwards quite how big a deal this guy is! :D) and if that goes well she has the job.

So yay for Mrs T! :)

A real bummer on the long distance relationship thing though, we both know we can handle it, but that doesn't make it any nicer. :(

My mechanic in Blackburn has sorted out the knocking noise coming from the rear of the GT-Four that's been driving me mental for the last 6 months.

Turns out the company that had fitted my coilovers hadn't bothered tightening anything up on the near-side so it was all shaking around and knocking. Not happy, could quite easily have fallen off!

Indeedy, been looking at the menu. They... er... do know there's a two-year-old coming, right?

Also, you are definitely 100% comfortable with your sexuality I take it? I ask, as we will look very gay having lunch with a toddler.

Yeah. They were cool with that. I'm sure we can work around any eventuality. As to the other, trust in MaliA, it's all part of the plan. It'll work a charm.

Thanks for a lovely lunch MaliA and for not buggering me! You've evidently had an impact on young Zioette also, as on our return home she proceeded to pick up my brother's copy of The Economist and started leafing through.

Are you mad? That sounds like the most adorable ithing ever. DO IT.

Today's "Yay": I have finished sorting out everything I own. Started on Monday. Erk. I'd be cataloguing the stuff i'm selling/giving away now, but it's far too hot for that nonsense. I'd be in the garden enjoying the sun, but some fuckcunt has cut their grass >:|

But! I effectively have a new room, and am getting a friend to supply some discuonted wood so I can build some storagey things. Woo! Unemployment rocks.

Been out in the garden and done lots of tidying. Which basically means that the various animals are now much happier. So far, we've had blackbirds digging the freshly cut grass for worms, robins and blue tits in and out of the the hedge and walls for grubs, starlings having dust baths in the freshly turned soil, sparrows going in and out of their nest under the eaves, the family of squirrels bounding around the hawthorn and nicking apples from the tree.

And I've left a nice bunch of weeds near where the hedgehog currently nests under our old shed next to the air raid shelter. Hopefully he'll nip out and drag them in to feed the newborns.

Hell, yeah. She was hot. It's a perfect icebreaker. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion (truth be told, MrsA pointed out to me that 90% of the people that go in there are more than likely millionaires) the hot waitresses aren't possibly into me, as I don't tip a car per meal. The cute daughter approach could leverage some favour. I'd pursue this avenue. But not with the blonde one who is my favorite, and has been for years. I write poetry about her. And once asked if she'd go outside to see if it was still raining. She did. I love her.

Passed the GDL. Didn't get a commendation though, which is disappointing. I feel relieved and underwhelmed. It's weird. At least it's over! Dunno what the individual marks look like yet - should find out later in the week. Phew.

Well done you! Yeah, relief, wondering "what's next" and then slight underwhelmings. I could sort of understand the type of person who just stays in higher education forever at that moment.

Is that really a year since you busted up your leg and stuff?

When I see 'VPL', it reminds me of VOPL, which was the shorthand code to cast 'Vorpal Plating' in Bard's Tale. :nerd:
