Folks,

I was going to send you all a postcard but lack both your addresses and enough stamps (98 cents for a card to the Old World!). Finally found a place with wi-fi so this will do.

Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons are awesome! Go here, now!

The mountains are breathtaking, the lakes and rivers stunning, and the hot springs and geysers are mysterious and impressive. Any attempts at long hikes have been foiled due to the fact that on every step there's another stunning view to photograph!

I've seen loads of wildlife too: elk, marmots, bison, chipmunks, and, excitingly, bears!

Four more days here then a trip to Cody, a Wyoming town that still thinks it is the era of the old west, then a visit to a friend before I head to New York and Gettysburg. But I'm going to miss this place very much.

Full report and photos to come once I get back to Blighty.

Hope you are well,

Kern

Have you seen Yogi Bear yet? Please ask him why he only wears a shirt collar and tie.

That is all.

Wow, lucky you, I went there in 1988 on a weekend trip whilst I was staying for 3 weeks with a mormon family in Montana.

We saw elk, they were drinking from a lake we'd camped near, easily less than 10m from our tents!, we also saw bear too, all very exciting when you're 13 years old!
