Could we make it easier by saying "You're not allowed to mention the GM, or make any reference to them at all, in the game thread"?

That might be more sensible.

Incidentally, a secret role that can pass confusing notes around is brilliant.

That might be more sensible.

That's still not really solving what people are saying is the problem here, because I could still have done everything I did only with Troopers name ommitted?

Also, can I just say, how awesome was my fake role description to nearly exactly get a secret role! I assumed it was the Germans passing round the notes, I had no idea there was really a spy character! I chose Bobby as my fake spyign target because I felt bad implicating someone in my fakeness who was enjoying the game and I kenw Bobby had some pretty awesome stuff going on away from here so he wouldn't be disappointed to go if I managed to get away with it for a day (which is all it would have lasted for since I'd have been investigated that night and killed, obviously.) Damn me and my good nature, I need to try and be more ruthless :)

Simpler still, then: "Be in character."

Another weird occurrence with this game? Despite three main factions, many different win conditions, and so many deaths, not one win condition has been met yet.

Even that poses a problem. If I was a townie, my character is essentially what I make it. I really enjoy roleplaying in these games and had a whale of a time in the MP one but I could essentially become a character who was a bit nuts and then do what I liked! I would however love to play stringent role playing mafia game where we all had roles even if very few people had power roles. Some people are rubbish at roleplaying.
Oh also, while I remember can we enforce a rule stopping people posting in the game thread once dead? I don't think anyone has so far this game but usually someone does and it really annoys me. even if its just to make ghosty noises and ask for dead thread access, it does my head in. I know we don't discuss mafia outside this corner of the forum and for good reason but there's nothing wrong with posting in B&b for dead thread access and saying nothing more, when you've been removed from the game. FAR preferable to posting in the game thread.
Anyway, back to my original point. My character was Libyan. i was a nutjob. Did no one read my first kill note?! So it is reasonable for me to argue that my fake roleclaim WAS in character. I was a nutjob! For all you know, I believed it myself!

Well indeed.

I trust all of our excellent dead threaders are not feeding this back to their living team-mates.

Night one: "Curio is the doctor".

I'm still undecided on the posting a role thing. I don't think a rule was broken, but I'm uncomfortable with essentially faking a GM message. I can't really say why, it just seems a bit too far. Iono. I think I broadly agree with:

We'd best get it sorted before my next game, at any rate!
:D

Though.

Interesting to see Flis pushing to lynch malc for being French. I thought that he can't be recruited unless the French PM is targeted, so presumably he's only a minion (or lying), which makes me think Flis is probably a britisher or crazy libyistani.

The spy roles seemed to have made this quite excellent. Have we had a game yet where a special role is given to a new player who can turn up halfway through the game? That could be interesting.

Ummm... I may have had the following role already written in case the spy got knocked out super early, or things were otherwise slow. To have been assigned at random out of the surviving players... :D turns out it wasn't needed though.

Illuminati Leader

No country allegiance
Illuminati Leader (1)

You wake this morning, something is different.

You've hidden away for so very long, pulling strings under the covers, nobody even knew you were around, you hid so well you even forgot yourself who you really were… for a time…

You have remembered your true purpose! This world isn't as people seem, you and your friends have been running it for aeons. The U.N. is getting too big for it's boots, and this session was never about them resolving their differences, it was all about getting them together in the same place, so it was easier to get rid of them.

Win condition : Kill all the delegates.

Actions
Assassinate : Will kill the member targeted.

The Spy should really try to push the floating voters one way or the other.

Also, Flis raises a valid point. If they let the Frenchies survive, then whoever gets to recruit them first will be in a strong position

Also also, it'd be funny if they're bluffing and already used their 'Run' capability.

:D

Also also also, this is more of a problem for the Libyans and Brits than us Afghans. We only need the Brits to be eliminated for the win. I'd probably vote to hang a Frenchman and hope to hit the Brit during the night.

Yeah at this rate I'm pretty sure the infidels will win. I'm not 100% on malc claiming to be French. I think he's Libyan. Should be interesting to see how it goes.

"So if you leave Malc and me alive then the people attacking us poor French only have a 50% chance of getting the President, if Malc or i are disposed of today then it is a 100% hit chance"

If SG and Malc are French, then SG is doing a damn good job of convincing the remaining kill roles to vote for him or Malc! :D

I believe SG and Malc are the Frenchies. AFAICR the only kill role to not kill on any night was the Afghans, so even if the Froggies had been recruited, it would have been to the Libyan cause.
