About to start, will anyone else be watching? Mrs T is out jogging at the mo, but we'll start it when she gets back.

I enjoy The Apprentice far too much for what it is really, but it is always amusing to watch idiots flounder...

I lost several followers on twitter in the first episode of the apprentice last year. Here we go again.

My twitter feed has exploded with people talking about this.

Me? I really don't care about it so I shall be playing games instead.

I think 100 increasingly angry tweets per hour clutters the feed somewhat.

I know it's all in the editing but these guys are dicks.

I just turned it off as it's just more of the same cunts doing the same thing. Probably a few years past its best now. However like ill advised IBM PC clones Lordsuralun doesn't know when to let go.

Apparently episode 6 this year comes with a built in Sega Megadrive..............

Apparently they're playing the Iron Maiden game or something.

Disappointed that they chose to fire the one they did. There was a lot of comedy potential in the uselessness.
I swear that one of the men there didn't actually speak until the board room at the end!

MrsA had it on, so I was half watching it. Quite enjoyed the bits I saw. Unsure how some of these people are able to tie their shoelaces in the morning, let alone breathe.

He's probably in the final. The editing at this point will focus on twattishness in the early leavers and people who look amazing at this point only to be responsible for a monumental clusterfuck later on when you thought they were nailed on for the win. Precious little tv entertainment to derived from people who are pretty much competent throughout, at this early stage.

The first show went down well in some places... :D
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic ... iness.html

I love the way he complains about it being an entertainment show, and holds up "Jamie's School Dinners" as a comparison of a good educational programme! :D

Also, last night I loved it when Alan Sugar classified himself as an electronics expert, who could spot an electronics mistake that no-one else had spotted... :DD

To be fair he was on holiday when the PC2000 series was launched.

He was at the football and missed the meeting about the PC200.

He was having his beard trimmed when the sound circuit in the +3 was being approved.

But to be fair, LordSurAlun isn't just an electronics genius. He's also a marketing genius. When he had a new games console he allowed this campaign to run:

It worked. The GX4000 went on to sell a billion units and had over a thousand games available for it on cartridges that were all manufactured in time and didn't miss the Christmas market deadline.

Truth is Sugar made his fortune in property not electronics. Yes Amstrad was wildly successful in the mid to late 80's and made loads of cash (the figure of £250 million profit for 1988 rings a bell) but it all went horribly wrong after the stock market crash and the PC2000 hard disk fiasco (not Amstrads fault but it destroyed their market share).

Sugar is now loaded because at Amstrad's peak he invested shitloads in property.

Last night's episode had me laughing quite a bit. Mainly due to the lass's attempts to explain her idea for an app.

And the good editing, which left made someone making a joke appear as if it fell really, really flat.

Both apps were stupid, though.

There's loads of stupid apps out there that lots of people buy/download free. So though I thought both apps were stupid that doesn't mean they're not going to be successful.

However I think it does prove that you can't come up with a good idea for an app and release in just a couple of days. Or maybe you can if you're not a bunch of fuckwits.

It was pretty obvious the guys were going to lose though, as all through the episode they were shown in the best light...

I missed the programme. Should the developers of Angry Birds be concerned by the existence of these apps?

I think they are to busy rolling about in their $42,000,000 of VC funding at present.

No one seems to have mentioned the best bit in the first ep which was where one of the women, who is apparently a managing director, couldn't spell vegetables.

I've just read about the apps. Gimmicky annoying wastes of space. And that's just the candidates.

I watched one episode, almost entirely in disbelief.

"We need to buy stuff cheaply!"

"Excellent! let's go to some boutique shops in Mayfair!"

Have none of these people even heard of London? I can't for a second beleive they've even visited it once if they're trying to get stuff on a budget in sodding Mayfair.

Did they not ask for prices before they set off? It seemed a bit odd to zoom off looking to buy 10kg of tea without asking how much it would be ON THE PHONE, so they don't get a nasty, 900 quid shock when they do get there. That 10-odd people can't buy 10 things, none of which seem that unusual, over a full day with 2 cars is pretty feeble.

You are aware, of course, that it is all fake ;)
Or if fake is a strong word, then "set up" is better :D They would have had shops setup that they had to go visit and buy from...

Darn, it's hard to tell which is their genuine incompetence, and which is incompetence set up by the producers.

Of course it is faked - they could have looked online to see what a cloche was (for a hotel, no less), but they didn't/couldn't.
