Forgot to put my out of office notifices on when I had three days off this week. Fair cop, really, but an email "reminding" me that it's "extremely important" that they're put on.

Now, I dunno about you, but if one of my staff did that, I'd wag a finger at them in person and that's about it. It obviously should be done, but "extremely important"? No it isn't. Going by their scale, absolutely everything I do is "extremely important".

Besides, in my absence I can see that close to fuck all has been done anyway. They haven't even posted the letters in the "to post" tray, even though they were already weeks late because I was off last week and nothing got done then, either.

Siiiiiigh. Still, on the plus side, my new complooter arrived today! As did a letter from my union. Excellent.

Edit: And now a shitty email (inbox was 51 unread after 3 days, woo) copied in to Idiot Boss 'reminding' me of yet another process that I got wrong once out of 100+ times. Bonus: This time the mistake was made when I wasn't even here. I don't even have to come into the office to get in trouble for someone else's cock-ups anymore! Damn, I'm good.

I'd need a form with at least three signatures to do that. And two of them are on strike.

I just got an apology about it. Naturally, I replied and was all like "no worries, whatevs man". OBSERVE THE WAYS OF MAGNANI-MAN.

Sadly not :(

Hmm. I've just had my boss on the phone telling me that the company down in London we work closely with are looking for a web developer, and are quite interested in hiring me, having seen what I can do.

They're offering more money, not what I'd consider a particularly brilliant wage, but they're a stronger company than I'm currently in. Of course, the physical logistics are iffy, as I'd have to either commute and stay down there for a few days a week, or actually relocate, but this job feels like a dead end at the moment and I know I could progress in a new place.

Hmm.

I've said I'll give it some thought.

London's a land of opportunity and dreams. Just be aware that the living costs are higher by a significant margin.

I'm sure plenty of Beexers would lend a couch whilst you find a place though.

They've said they'd offer accommodation, which probably would involve staying with one of them. I haven't had a proper talk with the company yet, only my boss saying he'd put me forward as an ideal candidate. I certainly couldn't afford my own place down there without uprooting Miss Malabar, and I'm not sure either of us would be open to that idea.

I feel like it'd be an awful shake-up of my life, but I'll have to weigh up the pros and cons before actually even remotely deciding.

Hmm. I might just look for a new job around here instead.

If they've offered you accommodation it sounds ideal for a 'stay away a few days at a time' style commute. If you don't want it tell them I'll have it.
