A colleague at work (not extreme BeEx Lurker Zeppo) has acquired £450 of Amazon vouchers through a 'scam' similar to the one that :attitude: was running on his forum.

He really wants an iPad 2 on launch day.

He's prepared to sell me those vouchers for £400 to give him cash monies to use for purchasing said iPad.

Only problem is, I'm not convinced. If I go for it, I'd want to spend the vouchers pretty much straight away so as to avoid loss of interest and because I'm terrible with money.

So, BeEx HiveMind, give me ideas on things to buy please! ;)

This only really works if you had something you wanted to buy on Amazon at around £400.

If not then its not a good deal for you - so dont do it.

I bought some £2 (oo-er!) classic books last week. Going to try to read them, as the smugness of merely owning them is beginning to wane.

I've got loads of those Penguin classics that they used to sell for a pound in my attic.

After a brief search yesterday, they do. I don't know how quickly after launch they were available through Amazon, mind, which may be the issue. I kind of figure Apple only sell them through their own stores for a while, especially when stock is limited and they can generate long, headline-grabbing lines.

Oh, OK. Gazchap's mate wants one on release, I didn't realise there was a delay in getting them to other retailers.

Unfortunately the affected parties have gotten wise to it now so it doesn't work any more, but collectively in our office we've nabbed about £1,000 worth of free Amazon vouchers ;)

I'll give you a £19.99 post-dated cheque for all of them. And a satsuma.
