Stolen from myp, but a good idea is a good idea. Which eight do you pick? No repetition (choruses and beats allowed, smart guy!)

Lift To Experience: "Into the Storm"
Tube vs. Koxbox: "Go Crazy"
Gnarls Barkley: "Crazy"
John Zorn: Leviathan
Lee Morgan: "The Sidewinder"
Imogen Heap: "Hide and Seek"

Oh my, coming from the guy who inflicted the DEP DVD on us that Sunday morning, that's an astonishing comment.

That was Alberto.

And yeah, I'll keep my thoughts on that song for another thread. ;)

Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop) - Scatman John
I want to be a Hippy - Technohead
My Humps - Black Eyed Peas
Hot Stuff - Arsenal FC '98
John Cage's 4'33" - Performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra
No Limits - 2 Unlimited
Heal the World - Michael Jackson
No Way no Way - Vanilla

I worry that quite a few of these may have already been picked, but not enough to be bothered to check.

8 songs... hmm, I'd give up some of my faves for a bit more variety then.

At The Drive In - Cosmonaut - for the sheer attitude and musicality of it.

Killing Joke - Empire Song - because it's on another level guitar wise and because it's so bleak.

B-52s - Dirty Back Road - simplicity itself and top vocals.

The Goats - Typical American - to show them that hiphop used to be amazing.

Suicidal Tendencies - Alone - because Suicidal Tendencies.

Talking Heads - This Must Be The Place (Live) - you need pop, soul, funk and new wave in the list and this does all of them. But better.

Fugazi - Slo Crostic - because Fugazi always innovated and you get the attitude of punk but in a more intelligent form that adds control but somehow increases the power at the same time. And because this piece of music is the most simple, beautiful thing you'll hear today.

Schtum - Skydiver - because it's my favourite song. So there.

Aye; my top eight and this-thread 8 would be entirely different, apart from the Brahms.

That whole album is ludicrously overlooked. Haven't seen the film since 1999, I think. I listened to Red Medicine and End Hits for the first time in ages, the other week. Absolutely staggeringly great band.

This is more like it - though I'd probably swap the Ramones song for their Wonderful Wold cover (though that could have been Joey solo) and the Maiden song for either The Trooper or Fear of the Dark.
