Let's hope we can do better than this year (or, er, not, I guess).
Name ten celebrities you think are going to die in 2011, two of which must be 50 or under on the first of January.

Well, I'll play, by pretty much repeating my stubbornly-living 2010 list:

1. Fats Domino
2. Liz Smith
3. Steve Jobs
4. Dame Vera Lynn
5. Richard Attenborough
6. Ravi Shankar
7. Claude Choules
8. The Duke of Edingborough
Wildcards
9. Kerry Katona
10. Lindsay Lohan

By maddie do you mean McCann? If so, you'll have to have evidence she was alive at the start of the year and died during it. Also, probably not a long shot (apart from the alive at the start of the year bit).

This is true.
I shall amend.

It doesn't have to be a long-shot though, does it? Just that they're young.

Depends which rules you're playing by. Under-50 is often one, but it's more in the spirit of the game to not pick a 'Longshot' that has, say, terminal cancer, regardless of age.

But, equally, it really doesn't matter.

:)

Hush!

He's certainly famous. I could change the title to "famous deathlist", because it's quite hard to define Celebrity.

Assanage is easily young enough to be a wildcard.

Also, 8) at The Rock.

This year I generally went for people I kinda wouldn't have minded dying and scored nothing. Therefore, for the forthcoming year I will go for people who I will be upset about dying in a sickening pursuit of points.

1. Sir Christopher Lee
2. Mr T
3. Ric Flair
4. The Queen
5. Geoffrey Palmer
6. Ozzy Osbourne
7. Sir David Attenborough
8. Tony Benn

Wildcards

9. Jessica Alba
10. Tom Hardy (kickstarting a new Batman villain curse)

People are about eleventy-squillion times more likely to die sat at their desk than Lewis Hamilton is when he's in his racing car.

And when he's not he has bodyguards and shit.

Okay, well this year I predicted it would be a bad year for sports commentators, and then fabulously failed to pick Bill McLaren, so next year I'm going to predict it'll be a bad year for old politicians (and then watch in bemusement as about eight million of the ones I don't pick keel over instead of the four I have picked).

1. Thatcher
2. George Bush Sr.
3. Helmut Kohl
4. David Owen
5. Patrick Moore

One of my favourite actors to watch. :(

His performance as Obidiah Hakeswill was one the most memorable things for me of the Sharpe TV series. Age of Stupid is crushingly amazing stuff too.

One of my favourite actors, and a thoroughly nice chap to boot. My Dad and I chatted with him over a couple of pints in the Three Tuns in Bishop's Castle a couple of years ago when my Mum was in the local hospital :( I didn't know he was only 64 though, my Dad's older - which is surprising to me.

Precisely how bloody young are you supposed to look at 64 anyway. It's not young, 64, and unless you've got good genes, most people don't look like Cliff Richard at 64. Even Cliff Richard doesn't look like he should either.

I think the point with Pete Postlethwaite was that he's looked weathered and old for the last 20 years so he doesn't appear to have aged so much as ripened. I don't think he looked particularly ancient for 64, it's just he's looked that way for a long time so it was easy to assume he was older.

You know things have been bad when someone's obituary spends more time mentioning their struggles with alcohol than their actual achievements and contributions to history.
