Current setup:

TV with built in FreeView. Connected to this is a FreeSat box attached to a dish.

What is the best way to record both onto an HDR? Ideally a one box method.

I've already ruined Christmas at the inlaws by fixing their printer, two computers and suggesting to the 15 year old he buys my 125 motorbike for his birthday as it is the only way he'd ever get a girlfriend.

Thank you!

I've got a TV with with built in Freeview plus a Freeview box and and a HDD/DVD recorder. The Freeview box is connected to the recorder which is connected to the to the TV both via SCART leads . If I set the recorder to AV1 it records what's on the TV. If I set it to AV2 it records the output of the Freeview box.

Your best bet would be a new freesat box with pvr functionality.

The Humax HD box was the biz when I got mine just over a year ago. No doubt there is now a better model with extra features.
