Hi Sometimes Chums.

So, it is that time of year when Mimi and I re-start that Christmas tradition of at least one year, but perhaps as many as four (our memories are that bad) where I post my online advent calendar every day until we get bored Christmas Day.

Advent: Monkey doesn't start until tomorrow, but today is the day in which we hurriedly remove the cellophane and hang the idea on the wall.

Monk Out! :munkeh:

Day Two

Cheese please

Part of my Christmas ritual involves eating mountains of food, and one of the most important foody traditions is the cheese board. I have begun my cheese collection for this year, and sometimes I like to just sit with it and chat about life and politics, to see how it is maturing:

I have a bit of a history with cheese. It is both my friend, my foe, and my saviour.

DAY THREE

Malicious Elves

Image

Every year this creepy elf and is friend hang around my local park cafe, swinging their arms back and forth, giving a creepy thumbs up and waving their snowballs around threateningly. Please also note the killer rabbit.

Merry Christmas, kids!

My camera battery charger has broken, so Monkey and I are finding it difficult to snap new pictures. There may be a few older pictures over teh wekend until we can get to the shops on Monday to find a new charger.

Pants.

Oh, no sorry. What I mean is I have a charger for AA batteries which I plug into the wall, and it is broken. I thought it was my batteries going, but then all 12 started going at once, now only half lights up to show it is charging at any one time. If I put 4 batteries in, only the right light glows, if I remove the front batteries the left light suddenly glows, but actually it is not charging at all.

DAY FOUR

A perfect accompaniment for cheese

Along with some good cheese you need some good wine, because despite what Oz Clarke might tell you, beer is cheese's natural accompaniment. Because I like to collect so many Christmas varieties of cheese, I have to ensure that my beer fridge is stocked to suit any cheese and cracker combo:

Image

Sometimes I like to match my beer to my cheese by country of origin. I adhere to this by never allowing any beer (or, of course, cheese or simulated cheese product) that comes from America to sully my fridge. If you produce cheese that can be squirted from a can, you should be ashamed. Bud light? Please, this is not the place for you.

The bestest thing about beer is that it makes you more intelligent, better looking, and gives you a new perspective:

First of all, WHERE did you find Bud Light in the UK, so you could reject it?

Secondly, what's all the Chapeau stuff? Is it beer or cider or what? It looks yummy regardless.
