Through a little bit of sneaky investigation, I have worked out that it almost certainly is going to be the 250gb new model 360 discounted to £80 on Amazon. Black Wii for sub £72 too.

Details here.

Regarding the Amazon sales... I just saw the Take That CD click over to £1 and within 2 seconds, Amazon had sold out of them.

Maybe it was a better deal than the console stuff is going to be, but I would advise being quick... very quick!

I missed out on the Harry Potter boxset, as the offer wouldn't refresh on the page, by the time the page had woken up it was sold out! :D

you don't refresh at all, there will be a pop up box come up, you need to click it in the first nanosecond or you won't get it. You then get a queue message come up and then if you are very lucky it will go into your basket. Deals don't come up on the item's page and 1 -click isn't applicable.

Have they done the Xbox 360s yet? It looks like everything is pretty rubbish now. Barring possibly Vanquish.

Nope. DJ Hero 2 and Vanquish are the only games things left today, unless they bust out a surprise (one commenter on SavyGamer says at one point they were displaying a clue that suggested a Wii).

Hmmm! So it's happening all week? Do you reckon the mega big stuff will kick off on Black Friday itself?

Yes, and yes. They're bound to save the big stuff for the end. I'd be surprised if we didn't get one big splashy thing today though, to get people talking about it.

Please don't be and please don't let me be on the page when it hits. I'll end up buying it, just like I bought DJ Hero, which has only been used once... :D

Not a clue really. If I see any indication that the 360s are coming up I'll not tell anyone because I was to save them all for myself make sure to post.

Yeah, if you pick Video Games from the drop down box, it still shows that one. Very sure it is DJ Hero 2, not sure on which platform version though.

I do admire amazon's logic in putting all the kitchen deals for today on at 3pm, so that would be bang on time for the school runs then.

Huh? What is the correlation between kitchenware and the school run?

All of the housewives/husbands will be out of the house at the very time said putative- kitchenware-using-customer would otherwise potentially be online ready to buy.

Ah, I see. You don't cook if you don't have children. Right-o.

No, but the profile of people who have disposable income to spend on kitchen appliances, cf beer, is more likely to include people with children, than students.

Mimi, of course people without children can cook, however they are very :dowant: items if you are a housewife/husband. People not on the school run won't have to hover over the PC with shoes and coat on with a clear path to the front door, shortly followed by running like the clappers and thinking up back up excuses that doesn't include the sentence "sorry *gasp* I was late *wheeze" I was trying to snipe a really *cough* sweet coffee maker on the internet"

Sorry to be so thick but, for example, if I was interested in seeing the 1pm deal, on which page would I wait?

Is part of the fun that you have to find the actual bargain product page, or does the black friday main page update on the hour or something?

Well I didn't get the LEGO. It's like a lottery. I don't think I could've clicked it any quicker either. (Was gonna get it for my nephew.) Having said that, at £25 it's not exactly sale of the century.

I think giving away almost all of the details on what is going to be on offer way beforehand probably wasn't the best idea.

Also, I'd like for them to let us know what stock levels are too.

I've had a few issues with web site too.

Edit: I mean, from their perspective "Pissed off because I didn't get something despite having clicked on it straight away." is a worse sentiment to foster than "Shucks, I didn't hear about that until too late, but I will look out for future deals."

I managed to get Goldeneye earlier which I'm dead chuffed about because I was just about to spend £30 on the standard version.

I wanted DJ Hero 2 as well.. Imagine my disappointment when I saw it was Just Dance on the Wii. I'll be all over the Amazon forums complaining about this! Just you wait and see! :hat:

Should I be getting a popup window on the hour when waiting on that page? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Can you see the bit counting down under each deal? That will change to a "buy" button as soon as the deal is available.

It's the day after Thanksgiving, which kicks off the chrimbo shopping season in the US. Thought to be the day that retailers start to make money on the year, the day they go into the black from the red...hence the name.
