I just won a high value item on Ebay, but I am going to australia from Friday til beginning December.
Is it possible to Address it to me John Smith c/o (care of) Lovely Girlfriend

Or does it not work like that? It will be sent parcel force and ideally my gf would be in to sign for it, but if not, how big a hassle is it for her to collect it? Will this be fine if it simply is addressed to me. We both live at the same postal address.

If she does have to collect it, you'll need some ID in her name and something with your name on name but if it's being delivered, and you're in.. The parcel force guy will probably struggle to give a shit and would let anyone sign for it.

Anyway, have a word with the seller. I'm sure he can put your girlfriends name on it too.

PArcel force are cunts indeed but I had a bunch of stuff from Play with them and I always got it eventually.

As TV says, if you could possibly ask to have it addressed to Mr LaceSensor and Lovely Lady Friend then she can take her ID up to claim it if she's out (rather that C/O - though I have sent things c/o naming my brother as the person in care of a parcel to my nan, and he's been able to collect it OK - really depends on how muppety are the muppets at your local depot.)

It would depend on the seller, some are nice and will send to a different person, some refuse to deviate from the name and address on your paypal.

This being the sensible course of action mind, even though changing name doesn't really matter at the same address.

Anyway, Parcelfarce don't give a shit who signs for it at your address, as long as they get someone in. However if they card you it goes to the actual P.O. (not the Royal Mail PHG bit) & it's a fucking nightmare if it's not in your name & even worse if it's in a company name

Part of that is their 'seller protection' , if you sell something on ebay and send it to anywhere other than the *registered and confirmed* address on ebay and something goes wrong your not covered and you've basically lost the item.
