Hello folks.

I am producing a report for our CEO in Word (2007). In it, I need to include a couple of tables from an Excel (2007) file.

To do this, I copy and paste them over, using the 'Paste Special - Picture (Enhanced Metafile)' as that looks by far the best of the options available.

Unfortunately, it also means that when you print out the document, the Excel table is not there. It is there in the Print Preview, and I've gone through all the options I can think of, such as background printing etc, but it just won't print. It will print when I choose the exact same option when pasting from an old version of Excel, but not from 2007... which sadly is now all I have on my PC.

It will print if I paste as a Bitmap, but it looks ugly and always cuts off the gridlines on the left hand side.

Grrrr!

Anyone know how to fix this?

Sensible replies only for the moment, plz.

Have you tried just doing a normal paste, so it recreates the cells as a table and stuff? No idea if that applies to the versions you're using, but it's what I always do.

Yeah - ctrl-c ctrl-v would be the first thing to try.

and then trhrow a table-autoformat over it..

(with big tables this stiff often gives a mess though,
fave you tried formatting the picture, so it's in line with text?

The ctrl-c, ctrl-v method also means a little paste icon will appear at the bottom right of where you've pasted it in Word 2007 and you can change certain options there. When I had a similar issue recently, I used this method, then had it paste as an image by clicking that paste icon, then resized the image as appropriate.

BOSH! We have a winner!

Weird that it won't let me paste special and print it, but it will let me paste normal, then use that icon to change it into the same picture as paste special, and then that will print it.

Very weird.

Normal CTRL C then V pastes it waaaay too big, and resizing is a massive pain. owever, this new method works, and that's all that matters.

Cheers guys!
