So I was FORCED into buying this by seeing Myoptika and CUS playing it on Live, and by gum am I pleased I did so. I missed out on the PS2 version because of the advent of this-gen gaming machines. It plays like an updated version of Bak to Skool or Skool Daze, which makes me a happy chappy. What does every else think?

I think it's brilliant, I'm just worried I'll get halfway through and then abandon it for GTA IV, given the release dates are so close together.

Also, I don't see why the Daily Mail brigade made such a fuss about this. You play a 15 year old who's not had the love of his parents and gone down a slightly bad road, but in the game you're not the bully. You help and protect others from the bullies and learn to stand up for yourself.

It's the standard book-by-its-cover (or in this case, title), lunacy. See: Jerry Springer musical.

I want the Wii version, Eurogamer made it seem really good with the boxing to box type controls.

Probably the fact that, about a year before its eventful release Rockstar decided to name it 'Bully', and issued a number of massively-misleading screenshots of the main character kicking nerds in the stomach. It's almost as if they wanted the mainstream press to get the wrong impression. What? Oh.

But back on topic, has anyone here played the Wii version of Bully? I would like to get it eventually, and, as Lave said, the Wii version is supposed to be rather spiffy.

A 200 quid block with a wireless router, which is probaly the most insane bit, 70 quid for a router and he never bought a live subscription, Im ringing the asylum.

Grim, Pete, it's good you fools! MR GETTING OLD BUT STILL IT"S A SAD FACE FACE

Anyhow Eurogamer said:

Quote:
Comparing the Wii and 360 versions of Bully: Scholarship Edition is difficult, really. The motion-controlled combat and extra Wiimote-centric mini-games definitely add to the experience - physically punching and grappling with your hands will always make for a more entertaining experience than pressing buttons - but looks-wise, the Wii game's only marginally better than the PS2 original. This means it falls far short of the 360 version's graphical standard, even if it does avoid the more powerful system's (soon-to-be-fixed, says Rockstar) technical issues. Consequently, Bully's age is far more obvious on the Wii, but playing it is a wee bit more enjoyable. It's a choice between much nicer looks and motion controls - a trade-off that is sure to become familiar as multiplatform Wii games get more common and less lazy.

Which makes me think the Wii version looks much better, but I ain't played it (yet), so I don't know.

I would really like to own this, but god knows, I've got enough games on the go right now. I'll most likely pick it up on impulse when I see a cheap preowned copy somewhere (I work in a major-ish shopping centre so checking the preowned racks at Game/Gamestation/Blockbuster is a regular lunchtime time-killer).

It really does look nifty, the "Skool Daze 2008" angle is selling it to me nicely.

I haven't played NMH, so I couldn't say with certainty. Bully was excellent, though.

I'm currently enjoying egging on Myp in his quest to finish this ahead of Mr Dave. Well, I say "quest", he's not bothered really. It's like cheering for the winner to 2 horses tethered in a field, to be honest.

Judging by the way I'm already on chapter 3 after 2 days, and he's still on chapter 2, you may have picked the wrong horse there.

Oh aye Klass of 99 is excellent, if short and very easy compared to the Speccy games.

Still, when you punch the fat kid and he falls over, the whole screen shakes. Which is great.

And I made it a point of punching the swot every time we went into class, because he'd ALWAYS tell on me but the teacher wouldn't always believe him, so the occasional lines were worth it.

Which is why you've been going around kissing boys, then?

Yeah, I found that just now. It also allowed me to use up a flower, having been stuck on 49 flowers picked when I stopped needing them for girls. Two achievements with one stone.

I was searching for manly gifts or something like that to do it.

The easiest boy to "get" is Trent from the Bully clique. He's the one with blonde hair and he likes flowers. :luv:

Bully is definitely more compact as a game. Loads to do, but a much smaller play area.

He may well win - I'm at 99.90% complete, have done everything except 20 errands, but they're refusing to appear. So in other words, I've been stopped by the way it's horribly bugged. I'm not sure if I can be bothered with the entire load/save rigmarole that is apparently needed to get them to reappear.

Drink 500 sodas, buy at least 333 clothing items, win all bike and kart races, play the boxing game until "random opponent" at the vale gym, play penalty shots in the basketball court, mow all the lawns, deliver all the papers, play keep ups on the football pitch, complete all the #sideh" class="postlink">errands. Hope this helps.
