I have issues with colour. I see differing (not different) colours with each eye. One eye has a blueish tint, the other a pinkish. I saw it fine.

Only if you leave the cinema and you're still wearing the 3d glasses.

Speaking of 3D stuff, the 3DTV in the notsolocal pub is really good, and I think the producers are getting the hang of where to put the cameras for the best shots.

Yes. I have never, ever, ever considered this to be a strange thing. I just thought this was the way that our eyes gave things a depth of colour. If I shut my left eye everything appears cold bluey-green, shut the other and it is a warmish pinky colour. I can see it really quite vividly when I look at the white wardrobe door, for example. I never thought this was odd at all - I just assumed all people had this.

What's more odd is that I was emailing it to people and the colour trick was happening out of the corner of my eye, too, while most of the picture was obscured. Makes me suspicious, but shifting the eyes breaks it so eh.

Clearly, I have no idea what's what. Though you've got me wondering how much my 1G 16GB one is worth; I might be able to convince myself a 64GB new one is worthwhile if I sell that on at a reasonable rate.

Edit: Though I did think the new ones are third-gen Touches, and the older, iPhone 3G(S)-equivalent ones were second-gen...

Wikipedia says the 3rd Gen Touch only came in 32 and 64GB configurations. So an 8GB one bought 6 months ago would still have to be second gen.

That's as much effort as I can be bothered putting into Google right now.

Also it would need to become huge before any saving in staffing costs would be sufficient to rival the huge bulk-buying power of the large supermarkets.

There seems to be an expectation that the savings on staff costs will be able to offset the massive economies of scale and bargaining power of the main supermarkets, and that the people's supermarket will provide cheaper food.
I'm no expert in supermarkets, but that doesn't seem like a viable assumption.

Providing different food to the traditional supermarket produce might be its main attraction, but who would want to work for free to get that?

Quantitative restriction! Based on everything I've learned about EU law, I can't see the ECJ not allowing this.

Plus the rent in Bloomsbury must be pretty hefty, and there aren't that many locals ( but lots of office workers ). It seems an odd place to start it ( other than for publicity reasons ).

It is for this reason I rent a flat above a shop, I've cut my hair and I'm getting a job. I smoke some fags and play some pool, and pretend I've never been to school.

Ah i didn't realise that it was in Bloomsbury. See, I had that sneaking suspicion about the people who would take part in this. It's like the land-share scheme where people give their and over to small-scale community farming - it was started as a scheme to benefit those people who were living in places like council estates, had no gardens for a vegetable patch, etc. Any time I have ever seen something about these places, though, every single person there is some aspiring middle-class yummy mummy with a child called Giles, and the land leading to the land is lines with those big people-carriers that people take their kids to school in.

I'm sure that most folk in Bloomsbury will be grateful for being able to save a few pennies. You'll have a group of people that will see it as a cute project, a hobby 'oh look, we're playing at being poor people - 'beep' scan, what fun!'

Anyway, blah. Oh, nan's a bit better today by the way, though something (maybe the new medication, maybe a general lack of sleep) has made her very drowsy today, so she's been napping/waking/napping all day long.
