Thankyou Kern and everyone else.
I called the office at 9 this morning and after a brief description of what happened requested that nan is not seen by this carer again. They have assured me that the carer will be called into the office and that regardless of what happens in their talk and investigation if needed that Nan will not be seen by that particular carer any more. Also, that said that all morning breakfast calls are done some time between 7-10:30, so that she was coming over at 12:00 was wrong anyway (which I'd guessed from the fact that she refused to log in.) I said that I would follow u with a formal letter of complaint, but wanted to call today to ensure that alternative care was sorted out for the mornings of next weekend.
I then phoned social services to let them know what happened so that there is a record with them also. Nan's social worker is going to make a follow-up call later to make sure that they have appointed a new weekend morning carer and to discuss what happened.
@Kern: Nan was actually assessed when she was released from hospital, but fell onto her knee about an hour after the assessment took place, taking her from relatively limited mobility (could get around but only short distances) to not much mobility at all. She has been seen by a doctor and a physiotherapist is due to visit tomorrow to asses the strength of her knee(s) and when I spoke to the Social Worker she said that she'd pop around to discuss the assessment to see if any extra fittings or visits could be made to help as I am only here temporarily whilst she recovers from hospital stay, etc, time dependant on recovery.
There is a relief carer coming for three hours on Wednesday so I can get a bit of time for some fresh air, etc, and I actually have someone popping over for an hour today so I can dash to the shop for some food (I went to the cupboard and the cupboard was bare). So far my meals have consisted of:
Saturday lunch: air
Saturday dinner: small bag of Doritos and some white chocolate buttons from the fridge (so rendering the taste like little wax discs)
Sunday lunch: air and water
Sunday Dinner: 1 squashed Cornetto.
Nan does have food, but it is ALL Marks and Spencers fish
meals.
