If you could have one superpower, and be the only person with a superpower in the world, would you choose flight, or invisibility?

What would you do with the superpower?

Would you fight crime, and have a teenage sidekick?

Invisibility. And I'd mostly spend time in ladies' showers. Probably without a sidekick.

Flight:

• You can go pretty fast, say 1000mph or so
• You can go pretty high, at least a few miles
• You are comfortable when you do this, you don't freeze or run out of oxygen
• You can only carry people when flying if you could carry them when walking

Invisibility:

• Your clothes are invisible too, as do small objects you are carrying, but nothing else
• You can still be heard
• You don't have to be invisible all the time

This is tough... Either one could be used for both good AND evil.

But... since I've been playing Dark Void recently, I've fallen in love with being able to fly so I'm going with that.

Thinking about this I'd have to go with invisibility. I could use that to get really wealthy and then buy all manner of flying machines with which to get my flying fix.

You've got to think how you'd explain that new wealth to loved ones.

I know that if I suddenly turned up with a bag full of used notes from the Post Office or local building society, then the missus would question it.

I suppose you'd have to go into the full on life of crime and get yourself a hide out and an understanding wife.

I imagine it'd be pretty easy to get money if you could fly at 1000mph, and you wouldn't have to steal to do it.

Yeah invisibility, makes sense. It would be awesome taking a dump in the street too. A tortoise head emerging from nowhere and curling off in front of those clipboard wielding wankers.

It's up to you, but whichever you choose, you are guaranteed to be the only person in the world with any superpowers at all.

I misread the flying as 100mph, now it's 1000mph... I'd definitely be up for it!

and it would impress women so no need to perve on them while invisible, you could have whomever you liked.

This is a slightly unfair question, as 'Flying at 1000mph a couple of miles up' is actually 5 or 6 superpowers.

With invisibility you would no doubt be clumsy and knock stuff over and get caught out.

Invisibility, definitely, for the reasons enumerated by both Craster and markg - nekkid wimmins and greed are what make the world go round.

Hard question! Flight would be great but I think I'd need to choose invisibility. You could use it to get rich in sneaky ways, or do top secret spy jobs in exchange for huge amounts of cash. You could turn invisible and get in places you should need a ticket for! I choose invisibilty.

Interesting that people are choosing invisibility almost solely for greed. Flight would open up such a world of fun, and save so much time, of which we have shockingly little.

I assume that we're basing these decisions on comic book representations of the rules of these powers where the info is not included in Gaywoods post. Obviously *blows raspberry*

Invisibility = money = buying an F-22 Raptor.

A plane that requires all sorts of arse-ache to get off the ground with planning and clearance.

And who says you couldn't make money with being able to fly? Being able to travel at 1000mph as a mere human, through the air?

I'm invisible. The plane's practically invisible. And has guns. Fuck off clearance. I've also used my immense wealth to buy an airfield of my own, and a country to put it in.


If they can't make money out of space travel, holding on to a skinny bloke from the West Country and getting cold isn't going to cut the mustard as a travel industry.

Defintely, defintely, defintely invisibility. Solely for evil, I can think of no good that could come from such an ability. Or at least no good that could come of me having such an ability.

it's not all greed, honest! I hate when people say 'money can't buy you happiness' in response to conversations about wanting more money. I don't care what it can't buy me, what it can do is mean neither me nor my girlfriend ever have to work again, we never have to worry about having enough money by the end of the month for food and petrol, we can spend as much time together as we want instead of feeling like ships passing in the night, we can travel the world, we can hear of disasters on the news and actually go and help, we can do all the things we want to do but can't currently because of work and cash and stress.
I'm not going to make a bed out of cash and then burn £50 notes to light candles but goddammit I want money. I would spoil my family, I would take sick relatives and dying friends on trips they'd never get to make otherwise and I would be happy. So money might not buy happiness but it certainly does a good job of rmoving the obstacles to happiness which are capable of being removed.

Space travel is ridiculously expensive. And it doesn't have to be limited to carrying people.

I'd probably take the healthy ones, too.

If you were willing to work as a drugs mule, I think you'd probably make money faster with flight than invisibility. I don't quite see how invisibility opens up much financial crime beyond petty theft.

I don't think being invisible would be such a massive boon to making money clandestinely, unless you just directly stole it from other people. Even then you'd risk detection via non-eye-based means.

I mean, you're still corporeal and can't walk through walls. You'd still trip alarm systems and be unable to get through a guarded door, or even in to a gig or whatever. People would walk into you. A lot.

Whereas if I can fly, my sponsorship deals and NBA Championship ring would make me oodles of cash.
