I have an American friend in London this weekend, staying in the Hyde Park area I believe, and a couple of us Brits are charged with showing him and his ladyfriend a rollicking good time, knees up Mother Brown style... unfortunately I know sod all about London drinking establishments but I rather wager that one or two of you might

So please recommend-me-do... preferably not too smart, and cider must be served if possible... not sure how much of an issue location is, because I have heard of these wonderful things called "underground trains" that I believe could be used at a push.

I'd pick a really decent pub, arrange to meet them at the nearest station then turn my phone off.

I've heard Little Chef are running their amazing 'bottomless teapot' scheme once more, if that helps. Awesome atmos in there; I'd particularly recommend their Early Starter signature dish.

I think there's a subliminal message broadcast in the boarding areas of all airports, everywhere. It's a behavior modification message that tells travelers to march off their flight and start demanding that they "Be shown a good time," or asking, "What's good to see around here?"
