Argh! Argh! Load already webpage! I bet you're going to be pegged down as after the 23rd, aren't you? Which is when I'll be flying off to America. C'mon, c'mon... get it over with!

ARGGHGHGH! :'( >:(

WAIT. Wait just one minute. I'll miss half of this but since I'll be catching the plane on the 24th I can at least enjoy that coffee fueled bizarro first half. Is it non-stop throughout the weekend? It is I can just stay there and not have to book a hotel or anything, and then sleep on the flight. That would be ace. :D

Anyone else interested?

But you can get to London by train, I've heard, and it's not like you'll be getting many commuters in the gallery that weekend :)

Hurrah!

Okay, this is splendid then. Head down to London Saturday morning. Drink sixty cups of coffee and watch crazy people. Lose touch with reality. Stagger off to Heathrow and get on big metal bird. Get shot by US Air Marshall on flight over as I start alternately howling and grinning evily whilst babbling about bodies wrapped in plastic and waving a pie-cutter about.

JOIN ME.

EDIT: :luv: to Grim... for pointing this out to me. Usually I find out about these things after the fact.

I don't know if I could take it all again. I think I'm the way I am today from watching it all the first time around.

Also, apropos nowt really, somewhere in the bowels of Castle Warhead there is a paper copy of Agent Cooper's Diary wot Bravo sent to avid fans.

Personally I can't think of a better way to ruin and make you resent and hate something more than doing something like this. I avoided the ridiculous Lord of the Rings - back to back things too.

If you just sat there and watched it for 40-odd hours I'd agree, but I wouldn't have said the focus was on actually watching it but more on hanging out with like-minded fans. And that could be awesome. See also: the Beex Firefly meet.

We didn't do 30 hours though. I think it would get pretty damned painful at that point.

I doubt anyone would make all 40 hours. Most people seem to hate the second season.

I've still not watched Dimrill's Twin Peaks he sent me months ago. The fact they are region1 discs has provided just slightly enough friction to prevent me.

Calming down now, I see it as a blessing that I won't be able to watch all of it and will only be catching the first season. But I still love the fact that rather than stay at a hotel I can stay overnight at this fine shindig. The only catches are that -

1: I'll have to take my alarm clock to wake me up, thus annoying fellow patrons.
2: There will be a great temptation to get roaringly drunk. This must be resisted.

But I guess I can drop my luggage off at a locker somewhere and just chill there with a sleeping bag. Neat. Hope some of you lot decide to come along. We don't have to be there all night and can hit some pubs at the same time.

Dimrill, I don't think it'll be like the standard marathons. I think it'll be pleasantly silly. Be a shame if you don't come along but heigh-ho, I understand where you're coming from. Last time I went to America I was able to narrowly avoid a 'Roger-thon' where Rixondale and others watched all the Roger Moore Bond films back to back. As his text to me said, "If I have to watch one more speedboat chase I shall scream."

What I should do is rip the DVDs to mp4s, shove them on the server, and stream them to the PS3. But I haven't.

The last standalone DVD player I owned broke in, umm, sometime before I last moved house in 2006.

Is that really that odd? I have half a dozen devices that can play back DVDs. Buying another device to do just that seems unnecessary.

Was this not the series where some babe got killed and there was a crazy woman walking around with some kind of twig?

I seem to remember it was kinda weird.

It was a response to doc, I was wilfully exaggerating the tech-sneer in response to him saying the same thing about the gap in my cable knowledge earlier :D

So, we're all on same page now....

Went to check on this a day after it went on sale.

Sold out.

One day I'll learn to set an alarm for when the tickets go on sale and pounce on them immediately. :'(

Listening to the track 'Final Miles' right now. Eyes feeling a little moist. Drinking a whiskey.

You really should. I love its pacing. A real wallow of a film. A real Sunday stroll of a story. I like the bit where he's talking with that girl the best.

Y'see - that's how great a film it is. 'The bit where he's talking with that girl.'

Also the bit where he's talking with those two men who fix motors who think he's born yesterday and utterly owns them in his, "Now here's what I'm going to pay," no-nonsense, quiet, polite, verbal smack-down.
