I'm intrigued at how well my team will do. Bit annoyed that foster is injured so drafted in robbo as timmy krul won't start.

How do you choose the other game where you face off against beexers? I've joined the first one, with random players.

Oooh the showdown between me and That Rev's Chaps is going to go down to the wire.
Both on equal points now I think with him left with valencia to play and me with scholes and hernandez.. could be a close one!

I've had a terrible fantasy weekend. Only a Rooney hat-trick can redeem me now.

Top of both leagues, baby!

Woop woop!

Who knew Marlon Harewood would make the difference for me?

Anyway, I've got to feel sorry for Mimi. She's in second place on the points league, but bottom half of the versus league as she played the only person with more points than her this week!

I'm relatively happy with my first weeks performance. Few changes have been made, scholes won it for me over rev's chaps.

I've got a new kickass team in place now. I'll be taking a hit in week 2 points wise due to transfers, but I think I have a good one to make up for it. Provided the players actually play.

My team is likely to be unchanged unless Fabregas is injured.

Though I might see who Wigan have got next week and stock up on players from their opposition!

I would have liked to been able to put the leagues and fixtures up in here but a straight copy and paste isn't working.

Anyway few things people might not know.

You get one free transfer every game week.
Any additional transfers will cost you 4 points each transfer in the forthcoming game week.
You also have a Wild Card which can be used to make as many transfers as you want without the penalty of losing points but this is a one time only feature. So use it wisely.

You must have your transfers submitted by half 11 on saturday morning.

Other things that people might not know.

You can change the order your subs go on to replace players that don't play. Its just below your team line-up.
Also remember you can change your captain, so if your star player is playing blackburn or something get him as captain.

Do you want me to do it each week Runcle? Windows 7 has a handy feature (the Snipping Tool!) that I'm using for mine and my mates' fantasy footy Facebook group. One sec!

Thanks Alot.

I don't think anyone can join the other league now because it makes a list of fixtures when it starts.

I think you can do it twice this season.

Score, I've taken both leagues by storm and gone top.

In the battle league this weekend 1st will be against 2nd when Awesome Welles takes on Dirty Leeds.

Transfers have to be done by half 11 on saturday again people.

I'd be third with 121 were it not for transfer points penalties! Ahem.

Here is the league and the fixture list for week 3:

You can do as many transfer as you like without any transfer penalty points.
I think I only did 6 or 7 because half my team was already awesome but I wanted to get rid of chumps like Shawcross, Upson and Emerton.

To use a wildcard, firstly make the transfers you want to make, then click on the "make transfers" button underneath your team. Then it will show you the transfers you want to make and on the right hand side should be an option to use your wildcard.

Ummm. Hmmmm. Is this an advanced bot of some sort? That comes up with relevant information? Or an actual person? Are you real?

Anyway, Bale is a midfielder in the official Premiership fantasy footy, for some reason, despite the fact that he is indeed a left back.

Poor Benoit Assou-Ekotto... who actually plays left back for Spurs.

Bale, whilst ostensibly a left back, has been used primarily on the left wing for the last season or so. Some fantasy leagues have him listed as a defender (where he is a bargain) and some as a midfielder (where he's still pretty useful).

He's a left wing-back! He definitely still starts at the back, he just does a lot of overlapping. Much like Ashley Tweedy and Glen 'Lister' Johnson. I, despite not giving a shit, have watched three Tottenham games so far this season - all 90 minutes of each!

I disagree. Unless they play with two left backs in each match. There has been a lot written over various football sites in the past year about how Bale is their best left back, but that Spurs sacrifice that and play an inferior left back because he's also their best attacking player.

You're right!

http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/08/25/ ... -hattrick/

I honestly haven't ever even noticed Ekotto, such is his contribution. I thought they played with three in the centre and two wing backs.

Either way, I wish Villa had moved for him when he was inexplicably out of favour at Spurs...

I like that someone moaned about the fantasy football talk encroaching on the football thread, and now the footie talk, thought still relevant to the FFL, has part-migrated here.

I've always liked Gareth Bale - he's a flexible player with a very rounded game, which I think is why there is so much confusion about what position he plays in (as opposed to starts in) as he just pops up over various parts of the field.

Do you remember when Modric was given free reign of the pitch and didn't have a set playing position?

Forgot to post or update the tag-line. Couldn't think of anything curios or crusade based for the tag-line sorry.

But Dirty Leeds is top of the battle league and Curious is king of the castle on total points.

I had a horror week shouldn't of used my wild card.

Times change. As my boy Curio says, his role has evolved. This led to a loophole last season where he was fantasy-registered as a defender, but was played in midfield, which is how he got so many goals. The fantasy premier league (run by the Premier League) has now updated this to reflect his current status as midfielder.

You talk about the last three years, I'm talking about now, which is what this thread is about. :munkeh:

That's okay: it will be a Dirty season, so get used to it. ;)

I'm actually going on holiday on Sept 11, but will endeavour to sort my team on the way to the airport.
