Indeed! The canal runs from the obisidian entrance to Davenet all the way through to Dave's dome. A left turn will take you to MrDom, Bobby and kalmar. Further on turn right for Perkies or left for my castle and Rev Owen. Then it runs all the way underneath Owen back to the sea near the start position.

I have to confess I have been happily abusing #summon to create my monstrosities.
In my defence, I am a complete noob and haven't yet managed to cause much wide-scale destruction, and I cant spend more than 30 mins active at any stretch atm.

I am thinking of knocking down most of mine & rebuilding it betterer once the main feature is complete :)

PS, the canal ride is awesomeness, I just get lost trying to get back to the surface at the end :P

I spent ages today constructing a "secret" new bit of an already "secret" feature of my undercastle that I doubt anybody's ever going to see. I really should build above ground more.

Dimrill - you should build your beautiful canal out towards my house.

Right, I'm moving back into Beexworld. Well, actually I'm going to the pub in a minute, but then I am.

Bigo, lave castle incoming. Going to have to work out the summon things I guess. How are most people building stuff?

Ah.

Pretty much everything I've done on Beexworld has been underground. I think that suits me, being the shy, reclusive sort of chap I am.

Also, does anyone else share my weird fixation with leaving torches, workbenches and furnaces buried intact when I block up any extra tunnels I've dug to help with the building of something? I quite like the idea that someone might stumble into one of these sealed chambers and wonder what the hell there's lit torches and stuff in there.

I think this game is driving me mad.

I remove anything I've left if I block anything up. Thus if someone should stumble across it they know it's vacant and free to mine.

Err, same here. On reading this thread it's dawned on me that I may have violated the Beextown 'etiquette' by using #summon so often. Sorry, everyone.

(I've mostly been summoning red brick blocks; if something is made with red bricks, chances are it's one of my amateurish, unremarkable constructions.) :'(

I built a Bezzieverse version of Eldorado (the mythical city, not failed soap opera) on a far-flung shore. Comprising of a single ziggurat, it's not much of a city, really, but it's something that might be fund to stumble across.

Hmm just had connection shenanigans, can;t seem to join the multi player game. Map doesn't seem to want to load. Just giving me plenty of blue sky.

I'll try again later, unless there's anything that I need to change since yesterday?

Thanks for trying Super Admin Skills Dimrill, but alas it doesn;t seem to want to cache the rest of the map. I can see a tiny bit, ie the opening to DaveNet but nowt else.

I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to seeing the next map. As so much of my stuff is underground, I decided to build something visible from the surface, so I'm interested in what it'll look like on the map.

I am so, so, so fucking tired. AND I dreamed in Cube-O-Vision, about lava flows and building castles.

If I never play this game again, it will be too soon.

Having said that, I'll probably be back on tonight - my latest creation needs to be bigger and grander.

I did have my first Minecraft dream last night. I had an underground lair and Dimrill and JC were standing at the entrance giggling that there was no lair down there any more. I went down into it and the whole place was smashed up, with great big gouge marks all over the place. Apparently a rampaging bull had broken in and destroyed the place. It was still there, and came back towards the room I was in, but Darth Vader, who was one of us but I'm not sure who, turned up and told me to hide behind him. I legged it.

I don't even have an underground lair.

I have an underground lair!

In fact, I've made three things in Beexworld, two of which are entirely underground. One of those is a recreation of something entirely mundane, the other is vaguely demonic. And the third thing I've made, the thing on the surface, is totally demonic.

I'm starting to wonder what this all says about my psyche.

New map.

NOTE: people have been exploring a long way away. This can be bad.

Everyime you travel somewhere that hasn't been generated yet, it's permanently added to the map. This can cause performance problems down the road. Please consider not wandering miles away for no reason. If our map gets big enough to stress the server I have no way of repairing it other than restarting with a fresh map. I don't know how big it has to get to cause problems; probably much bigger than it is now but I think I'd rather not take the risk if we can help it.

Yay! Shoving my name in lights over my lair actually worked - and my Wicker Man is looking glorious. Though he either needs to be bigger or more Lego-looking, not sure which yet.

Shame so much of my stuff is underground.

Doctor Glyndwr wrote:

I got very, very lost trying to gather wood and looking for reeds last night, so I may be responsible for some of it - possibly even that weird arm sticking out of the right of the map (near my stuff and Mr. Dave's massive column thing :hat: ) I ended up logging out and back in again to respawn, which annoyingly meant losing everything I'd got lost trying to gather, but I remembered before your warnings about exploring and it was becomming abundantly clear I had no idea even which direction to head back in.

I noticed Dimmers mentioning it before, but laying minecart tracks really does cause huge problems - in my case eventually crashing the client. Also I'm noticing lots of glitching with my doors.

Mr. Dave: I accidentally discovered that part of my underground stuff is just 1 block away from a DaveNet tunnel. I repaired the very slight damage I made discovering this fact and continued my building work elsewhere, but would you mind if I created an entrance to my stuff from DaveNet? I promise to make it all very tidy.

I nearly tried this method myself, until I realised that I had never actually bothered to check which direction the sun rises from in relation to all the Beex stuff, so I was still none the wiser about which direction I needed to head in.

Once the storage and furnace problems have been sorted out, I'd also support the 'ban certain summons' idea. It'd be nice to be able to play by the SP rules - although I might end up with a bit of a mob problem in my little bit of Beexworld.

You'd be best to visit it in person and ask someone for a guided tour.

We should do a list of things to visit though, I'm a little out of date and there's new stuff going up all the time.

But from the start, I'd go: Craster's boat. Curio's dome. Craster's house. Davenet entrance. Canal boat ride. Old Beextown centre. (Mr Dave's Ziggurat, the sandcastle, the glass castle, GILLY, DOC.). Kalmar's house -> down the waterfall. Mr Dom's Starship Enterprise with Frickin' laser beam. Dave's domes, over to the right. Then over to Dimrill's massive estate - loads to see here.

There's also the beardwall and other stuff but I'm not sure of the location.

Add your own suggestions..

Also Perkies' Canadian Tower of Tallness and the Zeppelin, and then round to Rev's castle and the Swan Dive.

Whilst visiting yourself is indeed the only way to experience Beexworld, it might be nice to grab a few screenies. We could make a travel guide.

Once the storage and furnace problems have been sorted out, I'd also support the 'ban certain summons' idea. It'd be nice to be able to play by the SP rules - although I might end up with a bit of a mob problem in my little bit of Beexworld.

I think SP rules could be a little discouraging for any newbies though, unless a new world were created and the current Beexworld archived somewhere. They'd need to spend months to make anything which compares with some of the amazing stuff that people have built already. I do prefer playing SP though, I just tend to look round Beexworld.
