You'll get a lot more out of those maps if you download them, save them, open them in an image editor, and zoom them in a lot bigger than one-block-per-pixel.

My lovely road! I likes that.

Grim.... yes I did leave your sign off my map. There may have been an evaluation of importance in that decision.

Clearly it was a bad one.

The main issue seems to be that I forgot I wrote "You've missed" and though I put "You haven't". Which is why your "I have" reply confused me.

Hey you can see Craster's boat!

Can't see anything of mine though :(
Not very surprising since my big round tower got wiped from history.

Ah, excellent. Just needs davenet superimposing on it now.

There's two major structures on there I've never even seen before!

I simply couldn't understand what I was looking at on the first map.

Our map is still only 64Mb big. Just found a report on the Minecraft forums of someone who's maps regularly hit 1Gb (and kill the game).

I'd like to politely request people don't wander too far for no good reason. Once you trigger part of the map to be created, it's there forever.

It's a colour-coded depth map of all subterranean tunnels.

I think it's every excavation ever, which isn't too helpful when you're basically trying to pick out two tunnels that are only a pixel wide.

Superb 3D map. Curio's is miles away. I think I might take the road over to the middle island for that one.

Do that, post me the images and I'll have a go at filtering the crap out.

Edit: well, I can identify my mine works at least. Davenet is known only to Daves.

1) install the VC++ redist pack from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
2) extract the ZIP file from http://sites.google.com/site/zbtestbed/ ... source.zip into, say, desktop\cartograph
3) extract the .tar.gz from http://static.fscked.co.uk/beexworld.tar.gz into desktop\cartograph\beexworld
4) run cartograph.exe
5) select "custom" from the strip on the left and type "beexworld" into the text box below it

Tick "flip" as otherwise it'll be left/right reversed. Then just play with it. It outputs PNGs into desktop\cartograph. To do layers, enter a number in the "0-128" box and tick "Slice".

Bedrock, I think.

Examining that map carefully, there's all sorts of smallish structures miles and miles out.

Are there any pros/cons about using specific types of building material?

As in, if I built a 100-storey tall tower out of mud, would it fall over?

For the moment,no

When exploding enemies are added, yes - they make bigger holes in mud.

Sand and gravel are the only ones that gravity affects. Anything else is just aesthetics, really.

Daaaaaayve. Going by that map you done drawn I think you may be using the same area that I mined out for obsidian farming. Have you noticed a nice wide shaft?

No. I haven't spotted any signs of anyone other than me down there.

Using the map, you can easily find where I'm talking about.

(Bear in mind the map isn't exactly to scale)

Haha! Slice 11 will show you my lower mineworks and the clearance of a lava field about 4 or 5 times the size of my castle.

Theory: in time, depletion will overtake the bezzieverse.

Every time the server crashes, huge amounts of stuff in peoples inventories vanishes. So can massive built structures! There's a huge mine under my house, the matter in it mostly disappeared, rather than moved.

Matter is being destroyed!!

If we had server-side inventories, the landscape would look the same but we'd have tens of thousands of blocks of cobblestone stashed in chests instead.
