I am trying to run a wmv file at work and get the error codec missing...

Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net (130)

Where is the best place to get the codec from or should I upgrade windows media player!!

try downloading the k-lite codec pack (with MPC) I find that handles most issues. I believe there is another popular one at the moment, but can't think what it is called.

Install latest WMP. Preferably uninstall the existing and then re-install the latest. Quick research suggests that codec should be included with later versions of WMP.

CCCP

Combined community codec pack.

That should cover everything, the only obscure codec that I have problems with is some weird intel codec (IV5?) which nobody seems to support anymore.

Intresting feature of vista, you can't uninstall it!!

Alternative is to just download windows media player classic, or vlr.
