I admit to reading Yahoo news. Mostly because it briefly lets you know what's going on without spending ages reading everything and I am lazy.

From time to time they put up articles about relationships and so forth. Well todays one just baffled me. It is titled

What to do if you breakup with your boyfriend on holiday

What really alarmed me was this sack of horsey shite.

Spending 24 hours with someone over seven days, tests even the strongest of relationships, and when tempers fray fueds can fester so how can you stop the fights or prevent them in the first place?

Is that really how people see relationships these days?

Most of you know I am quite old fashioned. I spent a lot of time with my gramps when I was growing up to give poor mum a break. So I suppose my morals and loyalty come from them. But FFS my nan and grandad spent every waking hour of pretty much every day together and were happily married until grandad died. And, to cap it all off two years later nan had a stroke and died also. They say it was from stress.

But apparently according to this fucking article spending just seven days with some one for 24 hours a day can test even the strongest of relationships. *Kyle from South Park..*

Really?

I mean shit, is that really how people see a relationship these days or is that article just a load of shit? Thing is, I read that mag that comes with the NOTW on Sunday (the girly one, I like that toxic bit where they slap people down who want advice with cold hard truth) and it seems to be the in thing nowadays. And, if you're not 100% perfectly happy with someone then fuck, move onto the next person !

The world's gone fucking mad so it has.

?!?!?!?!

The fuck?

Seriously that has to be a joke right?

I dunno. The first time I spent a solid week with Miss Malabar was on holiday in Turkey. I didn't find it taxing, but I can easily see how it could test some couples. What other times do new couples get chance to spend that much time in eachother's constant company?

My last relationship was dying on its arse for a few months, but a holiday over new year was the crescendo it really needed to kick it to fuck.

I've spent two weeks away with two different girlfriends and although it was generally good, I did find myself needing some time apart. However, the coke machine sold cans of beer. Which was pretty pro.

I'm not sure why I only mentioned new couples in my post. How many couples of any age regularly spend 24 hours together with any frequency?

The wife knows when it is time for 'Me Time' when we're on holiday, which I think is hugely important, even in the most annoyingly romantic of relationships. In Vegas, it involved me walking into a casino. In Egypt, I have to hold out for 7 days before we get to Sharm. They also have casinos. And a 1 mile karting track.

Well when the Mrs and I used to go on hols we both used to just bugger off and do our own thing. My idea of a holiday was getting to Chincotege (sic) in VA and just sitting on the dock catching stringrays. Hers was going off to look at stuffed ponys that used to be in TV shows when she was a kid.

Sad but true... MrsP and I are largely inseparable at the weekend or on days off. 5 days in New York and we were only apart when one or the other was in the bathroom.

To fuck man, that's good.

I fucking hate it when people say "I need space !". Fuck sake look up at the stars or something.

I guess I am pretty full on, but when I am in a relationship no one or anything else matters.

Ditto. But we each have our days off, and never begrudge the other asking for one. Everybody needs their time alone at some point.

I'm pretty sure that there have always been some people who need more regular time alone than others. Plus, y'know, bollocks article. Anything written about relationships on the internet is 107% likely to be bullshit.
