There will be a lot of thin young women there.

You may find it hard to differentiate them from the thin young men, though.

I'll turn them over to check once I'm done with them, then.

I would like it if a media outlet would report the context in which Jon Venables "obtained, owned and redistributed" child pornography over the internet. Because I still think that this legal definition would have caught him if he had downloaded a load of stuff through a torrent site which included that in there with some mainstream stuff, and it was then leached off him. Also the number of such items concerned make me think he wasnt a committed paedo, hence supporting that argument.

It does say that his computer showed an extensive history of looking for child porn. Is that how you find it? "Child Porn" into google? I'm unconvinced.

Some shitster has just stolen my good friend Sue’s beloved, old-skool, hand-painted bike. :( So if you see anyone cycling around Cardiff environs on a bike with the words ‘Doragh the Explorer’ on it, fling a stick through the spokes and then hammer them in the head with a bit of brick.

Ta.

Honest, in the west used to be a man was hung for stealing a horse. I reckon they should bring it back for bicycles.

I'm happier with dead animals being used as beer bottles than adorning the walls of people whose kids will become serial killers.

Maybe... No, I don't think I have ever been to Southwark. I was dancing a lot, though. To Tom Jones and prince, no less. My head was a bit sore this morning, but now my shoulder blades ache ferociously.

It's a standard mechanical hard drive with a small (4Gb) SSD cludged into the same shell. It uses the SSD as a very fast non-volatile cache. The downsides are, 4Gb isn't very big so you'll get a lot of cache misses.

If you can give up the internal optical drive, you can fit an SSD in there alongside your existing HDD. That's what I'm planning on doing to mine.

Can't give up the optical drive given the nature of my business! I can see the downside of the cache misses, but the cache should still speed things up shouldn't it? It does look appealing although the 250gb is only 50gb larger than my current 5400 drive. There is a 320gb version but I can't see it on sale at any of the reputable retailers.

You get a USB enclosure for the drive, so it doesn't disappear, it just becomes external. That's highly acceptable for me. I miss my old Dell Ultrabay, which could house a second HDD, the optical drive, or a second battery.

Oh, it won't hurt, but you won't see the sort of eye-popping performance you see when you host the OS and Applications folders entirely on a SSD.

I recently put a 7200rpm 500Gb disk in my MBP, and it did speed things up a bit.

Not viable as its too clunky and the Macbook is already starved of USB ports (2 ports FFS!).

That's just fucking staggering.

Lord knows, I think that Uncle Rev Stu Campbell can be a bit of a cunt sometimes, but the level of hatred he seems to incite in some is just bizarre.

Besides which, the article on his blog that caused this hooharr was perfectly valid (from what I gather at least, I didn't read his blog post) - that review on Benchmark Reviews was absolute toss and a blatant 'copy & paste from a press release' job

I read the whole lot. The "copyright infringement" thing is a bad joke - he merely quoted bits of the review in order to illustrate his case. You know, journalism. The fact that his hosts took his site down without actually checking things is incredible.

Seems a bit harsh. Shirley they could've just removed the article in question rather than the entire account?

Tricky, though. Much easier to get the banhammer than go in and remove certain things from the database. I can't blame them for playing safe, though - they don't know whether the complaints are true or not. As soon as Stu fills in a form saying he's not doing anything wrong they can put the site back up again, because then the complaint is against him, rather than the hosting company.
