Argh, sorry, but this has been driving me up the wall, and may be a little too obscure a request (though the song is almost certainly not obscure as my tastes are pretty boring (♬ Someone left my cake out in the rain.... ♪)

Anyway, stupidly all I can think of is the general gist of the song.

OK, so Hey Jude came on and the line 'for well you know it's a fool that plays it cool' made me think of another song, but all I can bring to mind is that it is a similar sentiment, someone having been foolish to have held back, to have played it 'cool.

Now, the only other things I can think of is that for some reason I think it is in the first person (i was a fool to have played it cool - those aren't the actual words, but the idea) and he (I am sure it is a man) is singing about regretting not entering into a confrontation. I can't remember if it is about two men fighting for a girl's affection, or if it is about a woman at all, or standing up for something else. That's the feeling - that he didn't 'stand up' for something in the past.

OK, I really can't think of anything else. It is likely to either be something quite mainstream if it is from the last 20 years, or if not is likely to be from the 60s or 70s.

Maybe this question is too random, but I thought I would ask.

I googled those lyrics and found the same song , however I think Mimi was simply using that as an example of her eclectic tastes.

She's looking for something that she thought of while listening to another song because the subtle ideas within it are similar , I doubt she'll get that connection , but i suppose its possible.

I was posting it as an example of my non-eclectic tastes. If anything I have very, very narrow taste in music (or so I am always being told by music-bods)

Try this thing!

Song Tapper!

It's not very good for me, but I put that down to my tragic lack of rhythm rather than a deficiency with the site.

Indeed, it is bollocks.

It seems to think every song is Smells like teen spirit. Even when using completely different time signatures and feels.

well, I don't know how the song goes. As I said, I don't know anything but what the song is about - not the lyrics, the rhythm, artist or anything :p

and yeah, that doesn't work very well. I just tried two songs (Kinky Boots and Kung Fu Fighting - er, first songs that came to mind for some reason) and it suggested neither.

No, it was 'Fight Test' by the Flaming Lips. Craig got it before I even finished asking the question to him, because he's annoying like that.

Um. If you put it in capitals like that, "The Cottage" sounds like a slasher film.

Nah. If were M Night Shemrmememermerm film it'd be The Cottaging. Which is a completely different genre.
