It sits between a guitar and an amp so that you can preset weird sounds for your output.

Like altering from sounding like Metallica to Eric Clapton at the touch of a button without having to retune your amp. And reverb, and delay and all that stuff.

A boy's toy basically!

Ooh! Have you painted all your other stuff yet? Eh?

Thinking of selling all the GW stuff I've bought and not touched if you're interested. I just don't have/get the time mate with my other hobbies. I'll list em all in the nerd thread.

Btw, I fixed all my untitled docs too, ta. Now I want to add a little descriptive text box to each piece on mouse over.

Back to work after a week off, still majorly jet lagged. Just been informed David Chuffing Cameron is coming here today.

Splendid. Special Branch officers with itchy trigger fingers is exactly what I need today.

I once bought a huge black bin and filled it with earth and grew some spuds in there.

They were ready to harvest in December and we decided to have them for Christmas dinner and bravely/stupidly decided not to buy any 'back-up' potatoes. Anyway, as it turns out they were absolutely smashing, easily the nicest potatoes I'd ever had.

I also once tried to grow mushrooms for my grandad. I succeeded in growing one solitary mushroom. Grandad insisted on having it for breakfast, though. He said it was lovely. I asked how it tasted - he said 'earthy', then he added 'lovely, and earthy'.

Recent visit to the states with hundreds of photos of military vessel interiors taken. Nothing to worry about.

I'm not needed anyway. I went over to see what they needed and it's all been taken care of by an external AV company. So, watch the news channels around 10am and you'll see DavPaz's place of work, but not DavPaz, oh crumbs no. He'll be sleeping quietly under his desk.

We walked alongside David Cameron for about a quarter of a mile. He only had two or three guys around him, and none looked particularly threatening. Maybe one was a body guard.

Hey, I was there also, but there was no atmosphere at all. That Richter geezer was mightily pissed off at me, as well.

Just checking my 'to do' list now:

4. Start alien reactor.

GJ's pc has died. When you press the power button everything starts up for about a second, then dies, then it won't do anything unless you unplug it and leave it for a bit (at which point it will power on for a second or so, then die). Motherboard light is green and case display still works (I tried disconnecting it, but it had no effect).
Should I even bother looking beyond the PSU (which is so ancient it's got an extra socket to plug in a monitor 8) )?

Perhaps I should have just checked first.
I've taken the psu from another pc and that seems to work fine, but the case has some kind of display on it (time, temps, that sort of stuff), which is actually built into the case and is powered by a 3 pin plug coming off the psu, which I'm fairly sure is the first time I've ever seen a plug like it on a psu. Is this some sort of custom came-with-the-case psu, or am I just mis-remembering the kind of plugs you get on psus (it's a flat plug like an IDE power connector, but with only 3 holes)?

Probably a standard connector, just not on PSUs. Should be easy to make adapter with your new elecrtical expertise.

Very funny. >:|

It's not particularly dusty. Slightly new development, it seems to power on quite happily unless the hard drive is plugged in, but the other psu seems fine.

Also, I've just noticed that although this psu has a second connector for a monitor, it also has SATA connectors on it, so my original guess of "ancient" has just gone out the window.

Did anyone see the IT crowd on Friday night?

Me and a friend are trying to remember what Roy’s T shirt said towards the last part of the show.. something along the lines of

“If it’s popular, then it’s no good”

But it wasn’t that. Can anyone remember and let me know before I have to feign sickness, go home and check 4 on demand?

(To joans, obv) The monitor through tended to disappear as power requirements got higher. Therefore with some massive speculation could be a low power rated (and therefore borderline by design, as 'm assuming the pc was pre-built) PSU that can no longer reliably deliver enough juice.
