I popped into a shop what sells bedding whilst also going to Sainsburys today. I was after a memory foam matress topper, because my current matress is essentially bowl shaped and I'm sure my bones are fusing together and I'm become a lopsided freak. Anyroad, the toppers were a bit expensive (£120ish for a Dunham Mill branded single one? Double was way more. Fuck off! Cheaper on Amazon for the 'official' brand!), but I did _touch_ a pillow. I immediately bought it.

Oh god I'm in love. Have you touched this shit? Have you squeezed it?! I WANT TO MAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF MEMORY FOAM. EVEN BRIDGES.

My mattress (and Malabar's) has a memory foam topper. It's very comfy.

I do not share a mattress with Malabar. We have the same type. Of it.

My mattress has a layer of memory foam built into iit, above a rather firm pocket sprung base. It's divine. Problem is, all other beds are now inferior, making me unwilling to go to other people's houses to stay.

Did I say problem? Silly me.

I always suspected, you know.

Got one. Hypnia 10"

Three inches of memory foam and a nice foam underside. Absolutely amazing.

And as cheap as wee wee in the toilet. Absolutely could not live without it now.

Hypnia do specials where they chuck in a pair of free memory pillows. Seriously, stay out of the stores. The viscosity is what counts and Hypnia are right up there.

Amazing mattress, really could not believe I got it for £99 del.

:this:

I noticed that. Especially as it warms up. You sink easier as time passes. Flipping it 180' makes it solidfy again.

Is it not a bit sweaty? I always struggle to find pillows that are just right and I'd try a memory foam one but they just seem like they'd be really hot.

If you want to hide the fact we sleep together, it's probably best not to mention my name at all in future, instead of fumbling your words and surrendering more information than is necessary.

That mattress is fantastic, anyway.

Of course they're not sweaty. It's just like sleeping on a giant sponge.. a giant.. absorbent to your sweat.. sponge.

Oh.

Mine comes with a hypo allergenic cover thingermebub so you're never in contact with the foam.

The foam will react to conditions. So if it's warm out it will warm up and if it's cold etc. TBH though even though it says that I have noticed no difference really.

Actually I wanted to look at it so I just rolled my sheets back. It's a flanelette sort of layer (nice and soft and cool) with lots of small holes in to make it breathe :)

It's fully washable too :)

The pillows are incredibly sweaty. They are simply useless in the winter if you don't like hot pillows.

I've always always used feather. I did try a MF pillow once but it was a bit firm and I woke up with my ear throbbing.

Nothing beats feathers. Flip him over, puff him up and cool beans :)

Memory foam mattresses can help with this because it has absolutely no bounce, so all your effort and energy is put to good use.
Since the visco foam contours your partner's body, he (or she) will be 'gripped, trapped' in the mattress and won't move around with your every thrust.
Grinding techniques work better on a Tempur-Pedic style mattress because of the friction provided by the foam. You won't need to anchor yourself to the bed or push against the headboard to make sure you enjoy every move.

My lovely pocket sprung mattress came with a memory foam pillow.

It gave me chronic neck/back ache (used on its own, underneath or on top of a normal pillow), so I don't use it. I continue with my pair of old-fashioned, comfortable duck down/feather pillows. Mmmm, ducks.

I bought a new bed last year, kingsize so for the first time my legs don't hang off the end and a combination of springs and memory foam. Best money I ever spent and I got my mattress for a third of the price that they wanted in the cheapest shop I could find. The internet is the place to find fantastic bed bargains after you have tried them out in the shops of course. Mine is a Sealy.

People who get beds with footboards are bad people. Especially if they then expect me to sleep in them.

I've gotten (:D) used to occasionally tucking my feet in between the board and the mattress!

We have an awesome memory foam / sprung mattress, and it is super, and quite firm (we need a firm mattress for the wife's dodgy back).

Sh has a shaped memory foam pillow for aforementioned back problems, but I have two normal ones. I might get a foam one though, as they seem pretty cool.

I despise footboards. >:(

Also: I didn't use the new pillow yesterday as it smelt like this andrex aloe vera bog roll I have. The packaging informed me this was normal and would go away in a few days; I'm trusting it on this. Anyway, I woke up today and gave the pillow a squeeze -- it wasn't as exciting as yesterday, but still an intense ride nontheless.
