Sifiblog was a made up blog, based on a poster called 'Sifi' on another forum, which was created by Myp and 118118. I actually thought it was quite funny at the time*, and not worthy of the moral outrage that ensued.

Yurp, specially after the new Mental Health Act. Back when Mrs K was in the management of a PCT they had to do a response to the consultation on it, and I helped her review the draft bill. Scary stuff. Basically if one health professional and a copper sign a bit of paper, you're sectioned.

(A Friend -Ed) had his ex wife sectioned several times before he divorced her. And arrested.

It can't be done on private property though. At least ("someone I know") almost got in trouble for doing one on private property, because apparently it's unlawful. Luckily the owners wanted him away, his family wanted him done, and he was ("not operating at peak mental efficiency").

As fair as I'm aware (and IANADOP) you get a warrant out for secioning just like a warrant for arrest, so the police (who have to be present) have the right to force entry if they need to.

Hm. Maybe it was an emergency section or something, then, if such a thing is possible. I don't remember the exact details, just that her and the medical guy sectioned someone on private property and her boss was all "Er, that's unlawful, hopefully no-one complains."
