I have all my tunes in Itunes in all sorts of formats, but convert them to a lower rate for the Ipod ( not too fussed about quality in the car and i like having 20k plus to choose from) using the tick box on the sync screen.

What's the best way to import a ton of mp3's and make sure they're all filed in the same location? (i keep my itunes library on a a seperate disc, and back it up to another disc)

Merci, and remember the sheer belming ludditeness of my last few questions when replying....!

How do you mean? You're adding a load more mp3s to your current library or you're importing your old folder to a new computer? If you're importing a bunch of new mp3s to your current library, just physically move them to the place you currently store your mp3s (for the sake of cleanliness) and choose "add folder" from iTunes to add them. If you're starting from scratch on a new PC, you should've "exported" your playlists on your old computer which would create an xls file (I think) which will tell your new computer's iTunes what to do with the mp3s, then you just choose the import option from iTunes.

However, even if you haven't "exported" them on your old computer, iTunes still keeps info in xls files and stuff in your music folder, so the new iTunes should do a fairly decent job of restoring your old playlists including your track names and album art and all that jazz, no matter how messed up your different file types and stuff are.

Cheers,
so basically if i plop my mp3's in my library folder and import them, as long as the convert box is ticked on the ipod page they will be converted to that quality on the ipod is my question i guess?
