I think someone has hacked my website http://iconochromatic.jhenge.com as it's saying: Syntax error in "wp-includes/default-filters.php on line 229" Any ways of fixing it?

Well, I can't help fix, but I can confirm it does it for me too, if that is any help.

I would imagine that it's unlikely to be a hack job, but to fix it, you're either going to have to edit the file or, if it's a standard WP file that's the same from site to site, you could upload a copy over it.

I'd suggest it is a hackjob.
Many sites get hacked by someone breaking into the site's FTP (or another site's FTP, or even worse, sometimes the shell) and using it to gain access to other folders on the server.
They then inject standard PHP code into as many "common" PHP files as they can find (typically ones called index.php, default.php, stuff like that) and the code normally redirects the visitor to a malicious site.
However, the code injector they use isn't very intelligent and often injects the code in the wrong place, or injects the wrong code, leading to these errors.
I would imagine the affected file is a standard WordPress file and can just be replaced by one from the original archive of the same version, but I don't know enough about WP to confirm that.
//edit: I would also check that the FTP permissions on the wp-includes folder are NOT set to 777. If they are, change it to 755.

Ta all. I think permissions are at 755. I'll have a look through the files to see what appears broked.

Don't know why I created such a fuss. Editing the last couple of lines in two files sorted the problem. Tsk.

Which version of wordpress are you using, Nirejhenge? I know one from a few months back was thought to have quite a few security issues. A friend of mine had someone hack into her site and place some code that automatically changed links that she posted to spam URLs. This seemed to have gone on for quite a while before she noticed, I guess as people don't always click their own links once they publish a post, so just check that isn't happening to you.
The new Wordpress 3.0 came out a few days ago, so it might be worth updating your version if it is getting on a bit.

I'm still using the previous version of WP at the minute. I'm just a little scared it will break my theme..
To be fair that's more a problem for Erant Splendens which has had quite a bit of customisation.
