A crafty-type Esty and Twitter pal just posted this on her blog, and I have to say I am quite intrigued. Bacon brownies.

Now, do any of you brave carnivorous types want to try this recipe and report back?

I tried bacon chocolate in Chicago the other week. I was unimpressed.

Craster in continues-to-be-a-belm shocker.

I will definitely make these at the weekend and report back. Om nom. I wonder if they'd work in an ice-cream.

On a similar note, I had some garlic chocolate the other day. It was very, very strange and wrong.

Chocolate bacon?

Oh man, that sounds pretty bad to me, as does its ice cream equivalent. Still, I daresay don't knock it 'til you've tried it. :)

Very much :this:

Don't get me wrong, I'm a chocoholic, and love a bacon roll as much as the next woman, but mixing the two... just sounds... :'( and :S and ever so slightly :spew:

Bacon icecream is lovely, especially if you make it with really...eggy...eggs.

Ah yes, now we're talking - I'm on familiar gastronomic ground now. :D

Unless I'm mistaken, I'd say that fryup has a "Ghia" trim level. Pity the black pudding is missing though, else it would be a top-of-the-line RS. :D

I had a vile fry-up the other day from a greasy spoon. Everything had been microwaved - egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, the lot. Tasted like fatty paper mache. I think the coffee was instant as well. Don't ever eat at the cafe near Newport bus station, it's rancid.

How on earth do they separate out the effects of the bacon from the rest of the fryup, the KFC and the fish and chips that their fat bastard guinea pigs were scoffing?

May as well be another one from the Daily Mail Institute for Cancer Categorisation.

I'd also love to know what the definition of 'processed meat' really is. I can eat 50g of pork shoulder fine, but if I mince it and stuff a sausage skin, it'll kill me?

At what level does food preparation become "processing"? Does dicing count as processing? My beef stroganoff may kill me.

So really they're just double counting on the effects of salt then.

You're OK as long as you tear chunks of meat straight off a live animal with your teeth and swallow them whole. Butchery, cooking or chewing count as preparation, you see.

Yeah. Not all the time, because the mincer is a pain in the arse to clean, but often.
