We want to catalogue our books before we put them into storage.

I CBA typing all that shit out, so am on the lookout for some software that will do it for us, easily and quickly. Something that'd let us just enter the ISBN and do the rest for us would be great. It looks like there are quite a few programs that can do this.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably something free or dirt cheap (although I am not averse to 'Coffeying' software to trial it in some cases).

Edit: For PC.

Free 30 day trial so no need to "Coffey" it. ;)

Although it's not cheap it is the best I found. $40, so it could be cheaper in a months time.

I wrote a program that used AWS to do precisely this a few years back, but I can't find it at the moment (probably "archived" in the loft or something) else you could have had it. Anyway, it was an extremely trivial thing to do so don't bother paying money for one. If you can't find one that's free let me know - it'd be a couple of minutes work to knock another one up.

I've been looking for something similar for my games for ages but I can't find anything good... or free.

The nicest looking is here

http://www.gotomycollection.com/videogame_database.php

But it feels a bit amateurish and I wouldn't like to pay for something that I don't trust.

For an online thing, VGRebirth allows you to add games from their database to a personal list. Not going to be as comprehensive as some dedicated software but at least it's free - good for imports too as I use the site to help identify some of the obscure Japanese stuff I sometimes end up with.

That looks pretty good and simple! I've signed up.. I'll add some stuff to it and see how I get on.

Shame it's online only but, it's free so that's a big box ticked right there!

For ease of use, some bluetooth mobile phones (or webcams) can be turned into bar code readers which some cataloguing programs can use.

That would be awesome... and time saving!
