Is it all done in shakeycam style and thus will be literally unwatchable for me?

A cinema in the area is showing Rec/Rec 2 double bill which sounded like a good idea. But then I remembered the trailer for Rec 2 is all shakeycam and makes me ill.

:(

Looked like it would be potentially exciting and scary but if shakeycam makes me :spew:

I have never seen all of Bourne Supremacy or Ultimatum due to this.

The shakey cam in the Blair Witch Project made me feel ill but weirdly I wasn't bothered at all when I watched Cloverfield. Maybe I'm just a big fearty and blamed it on the shakey cam to act cool ;)

I saw Cloverfield on a small screen and was fine. BW made me feel ill though. I was quite spooked at times too. By simplest of things really, like the 'attacl' on the tent. In hindsight ut seems shit but I think it wasd easy to imagine yourself in that position.

It's an awesome film, BTW. Fifty minutes of buildup where you start to wonder what the fuss is about, then twenty minutes of utter unrelenting bludgeoning tension.

Yep. It's fantastic. And terrifying.

Would have been better if I didn't need the subtitles though...

I once tried to watch a scary film when I had broken the latch on the loft door. So the loft was constantly hanging open and if you wanted to go the bathroom you had to walk underneath this big black space in the roof. I think it was I Am Legend actually. I ended up properly freaed out becaude I didn't know what the film was about and then i watched it and it began to make sense and my biggest fear is zombies (the zombie thread is what made join the forum because you'd be good guys to know) so i was sitting on the couhch, terrified, with a big black hole in the roof blowing a draft through he house. So i don think I could watch rec. Unless I had bodyguards or something.

Most of the world disagrees with you there Wullie.

In other news, REC2 gets a four-star review from Empire this month.

I wasn't aware that was a spoiler. I thought that in the age of the internet, that is a spoiler is the same way Darth Vader is Luke's father is.

I was good at avoiding spoilers for this one. All I knew before watching it was that it was Spanish and scary.

REC 2 is splendid, wasn't expecting too much from it but it blew me away...I can only assume they made it almost immediately after the first film.

Agreed. I had really high hopes for REC, but was absolutely stunned at how poor it was. I wanted to strangle most of the cast after the first half hour, and am still frankly astounded why people rate it so highly. It's at least better than Diary of the Dead, but that's faint praise indeed.

I still gave the sequel a chance though, which happily is a much better film despite its flaws. The
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
more supernatural twist to the creatures
suits it far, far better and really gives the series a style all its own.

And as the second film shows,
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
it's in no way a zombie series. Much less so even than contentious stuff like 28 days later.
