I like Paul Daniels. Now he's there, talking in his shed.

I reported that Paul was going to launch his own Youtube channel from his shed many weeks ago. In fact IIRC I posted the pilot.

Keen readers will also know I'm a follower of his blog at http://thelifeandtimesofpauldaniels.blogspot.com/ which is often hilarious, but in all the wrong ways.

Just started reading now.

...

Yup, it's a winner.

Good news is that the online shop, for which there are links on here or go to http://www.pauldanielsmagicshop.co.uk, is now doing VERY well, with many people placing repeat orders. The volcanic cloud is still sometimes interfering with the deliveries to and from the States... but Les, the manager of that store, is still out there trying his best.

I for one would like to bellow a hearty Good luck Les!

Friends of mine who ran a comic book shop in Leeds called Comicville were paid a visit by Paul and the lovely Debbie McGee. Paul spent his time looking through the tacky practical jokes and magic tricks carousel complaining at length at how they'd ripped his own products off. He apparently was quite sour and grumbly. Debbie McGee was really nice and cheery though, and apologised for Paul's misanthropic, paranoid behaviour.

My sister met him and Debbie McGee. Apparently she is a tiny person, like a wee lady you could fit in your shoe.

To be fair, Paul is a proper old school magician who spent alot of time devising his own tricks rather than ripping off other peoples work. I know he comes across as a tit but he's actually pretty good at his trade and is still the only British magician the man on the street would be able to name. It must be disheartening to see people ripping off your ideas and making money from them.
