Hello Beexers,

Myself and the lovely Mrs Squirt are of to the Isle of Wight for a few days next week, and was wondering if anyone had any must sees / dos? We're meeting some friends for some of the time, and obviously we're visiting the Garlic Farm and Dinosaur Isle, but we'd definitely any nice pub / places to eat and drink ideas. Recommend away!

Ventnor is nice.

The Model Village in Godshill is worth a visit, and for lunch visit the Griffin just down the road. The Brading Experience in Brading is good, Dimbola House in Freshwater does nice tea, the Botanic Gardens in Ventnor, Alum Bay (as long you don't buy anything), Arreton House, Carisbrooke Castle and for strolls along the prom, prom, prom Sandown (which also has the IoW Zoo and Dinosaur museum) and Ryde are good bets.

Oh, and just remembered Shanklin Chine for a picturesque walk, the Roman Villa/House/whatever in Newport)

Black gang chine was amazing when I was a kid. Not even sure if it's still there.

Edit. So I figured I would google it to see if it still exists. Let's all go to Black Gang Peckham. I'm sure that would be a wonderful day out
