It is with sadness that I am announcing my resignation as moderator. I almost decided to step down before the last election, but I was hoping real world stuff would die down and I'd go back to having a bit more free time. If anything, though, I'm just getting busier and busier.

I've had a fantastic time serving you all and feel incredibly proud of what we've achieved here. I still very much want to be a part of it as much as I can, and won't rule out standing again in the future if time and other commitments permit.

Rather than just plodding along until the next election, I think it would be fairer to give someone else a crack now. I was going to wait until Craster got back from holiday, but Grim...'s comment has prompted me to bring this forward.

Grim.../kalmar: if you guys are happy with this, then I'll move the thread into the main forum and invite applications. The least I can do is to perform the administration required to secure a successor. ;)

Or if you want to wait until Craster's back, I can post it then.

Lazy twat. You've had a long run of Modmanship anyway, more than done your fair share mate.

Perhaps now Dudley and (U$ will return.

I know we've had our disagreements, but I'm sorry to hear this. For what it's worth, I think you've done a good job of keeping the mad house in order. :)

Doesn't it just go to whoever came fourth in the election?

It can't work like that! Had myp not ran in the original election, the people who voted for him might not have voted for the fourth place person and may instead have chosen number 5 or even... SIX! Has to be a by-election for democraseas.

Thanks for the kind words.

A new vote is right and proper, as WTB has pointed out. Shall we say a deadline of next Monday at 5pm for new applicants, followed by a week's voting?

Does anyone want to volunteer as vote counter?

Right, it's looking like a coronation for the good doctor. Does no one else seriously want to stand? I'm extending the deadline until 5pm tomorrow as I forgot it was a Bank Holiday.

Vote Mr Dave!

Coming a close second is better than coming first. You'll know you are loved but won't have any of the work to do.

Sorry Doc, but you did come into our country and stole our jobs and our American women.

MR DAVE STANDS FOR ELECTION
SUPER SUN SOARAWAY EXCLUSIVE!

The BEEX Election was thrown into turmoil today as Mr Dave poster (real name Melvyn Vadge) announced he was standing for election as a moderator.

Chinnyhill poster (62) commented "Dr Gaywood is actually a fictional person like Doctor Who, Lassie and Trevor McDonald. Therefore my only conclusion is that everyone should vote for Mr Chris Mr Dave. I have not been bribed to say this and certainly have not recently received several kilograms of chocolate delivered by Citylink".

We asked Dr Gaywood if he was a real person. He issued the following statement "What makes you think that? Syntax Error".

The BEEX elections will be held shortly and it is now uncertain who will be elected supreme overlord.

I don't know what's involved, won't be any good at it or have the time and, crucially, will bring the whole community into disrepute... but that's never stopped me before!

Vote for more posts with a bigger boob content! Vote for a safer, terrorist free board! Vote for more (or less) Amstrad content! Vote to stop edumacated doctoral types from taking over the internets! Vote for change!

I would like to know if any of the candidates have ever owned an Amstrad.

If so please name the model, revision and any major peripherals such as printers or ROM boxes.

Dear Chummy Hlil 10,

Thank you for contacting me, your BEEX election candidate.

We at the EoaE party believe in more norks, fewer qualified people and less terrorism. That's why I know we can COUNT on your support in the forthcoming election.

We also, strongly, believe in the Amstrad range of products. None of us have actually owned an Amstrad, although squibby the tea boy's dad did once buy a PC2286 which he described as "utter shit" shortly before returning it. However we are big fans of tape decks, The Apprentice and colourful buttons.

As you are no doubt aware, 99.99% of current mods are fiddling their expenses. Do YOU think that's acceptable? Do YOU think my opponent who is from OUT OF TOWN and whom spends most of his time OUT OF TOWN will do anything about it?

Vote End of an Era for Mod!
