So iPhone owning Beex people. Fancy trying this little project I've just come up with?

Basically drag all your apps off your home screen (and your dock) like so:

Attachment:
photo.jpg

Then, over the course of the week, drag back apps as and when you use them. So your home screen actually has your most used apps rather than stock, weather, youtube (and Phone?) and other stuff that you've left there but barely use.

Obviously eventually your going to have to make judgement calls once you've filled it all up, but hey ho.
Why not post a photo when filled and another at the end of the week when 'tailored.' On reflection a before photo would have been a good idea, but I've messed mine around now...

To take a screen shot - hold the home button and tap the power button

At the end of the week we are better organised (well maybe) and will have given each other app tips!

Oh and maps is there because

1) When completely empty the 2nd page will become the 1st

and

2) I'm going to use it to find a pub in a bit.

Has anyone not written a stats app yet that tells you which apps you access the most?

I will do this if I remember, but it took me long enough to sort the screens into games/useful/entertaining/one-off stuff/stuff for others to play when borrowing/never used but can't delete.

I can't imagine apps have access to any such info.

Good idea, this. It might make me remember to use spotlight a bit more, too.

Shame. Maybe the next version of the OS will have the option to sort apps by date added/alphabetically/frequency of use.

I like this idea, but mine is all sorted into frequently used day-to-day apps on the first page such as Tweetie and Facebook or whatever, then around eight pages of games, then miscellaneous apps followed by news-y information type stuff. I'm very proud of my set-up and it's engrained in my brain. Sorry!

I spent about an hour reorganising mine a week ago. Good idea, though!

Me too, though I did it on the loo at work.

Page 1 is useful stuff, Page 2 is games, Page 3 is other useful stuff, Page 4 more games, etc.

:)

It was rumoured that something similar would be added to iTunes in v8, but we got the screen layout tool instead.

Well, I've started this now. My dock at the bottom remains (L-R): Twitterrific, Mail, Safari, Maps.

The apps added to page 1 so far are Messages, Words With Friends, TV Guide, Facebook, and a new one called Cool Facts (it's rubbish).

I spent ages sorting mine out into priority a while ago. I know exactly what page a particular app is on, so they won't be changing again for a while!!
