Okay E3 is the 15th - 17th June

http://www.e3expo.com/

Quote:
E3 Expo is the world's premiere trade show for computer and video games and related products. The show is owned by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies, publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet.

What do you think we'll see announced / playable / etc

We know theres a 3DDS one the way and we expect "Natal" and "Move" updates - what else is going to be there ?

Will we see a new slimmer Xbox360 ?
Will Sony shoot themselves in the foot by releasing a PS3 with no normal controllers because they could be used for hacking purposes ?
Will the Nintendo vitality sensor be used in the next Resident Evil game to determine exactly when the dogs will burst through a nearby window ?

Speculate below and then come back afterwards to bask in the glory !

DS 3D.
Natal/Slim 360 Bundle for Christmas? Or at the very least a bundle with a "price cut".
PS3 - fuck all, they've announced it all and slimmed it down. Maybe a price cut?
HL2 Episode 3?
Battlefield 3!

Oh, and I'd expect some sort of Xbox Live update type announcement similar to last year's Facebook/Sky Player malarky. They've just shut down the old Live service to 'make room', so perhaps they have something in mind? Having said that, I have no idea what else they could possibly include to make Live any better. Obviously making parties more stable would be good, and other bug fixes, but actual new features? I can't think of any.

I reckon there will be a lot of focus from MS on the cross-platform Phone 7/360 Live stuff.

Xbox360 Slim bundled with Natal as standard.

PS3-Killzone 3, mostly new IP.
XBOX360-I'd imagine pretty much everything is announced already, except for natal games which will be the main feature.
Wii-New Starfox, Luigi's Mansion with vitality Sensor support.
DS3D will look gash.

New GTA will be announced; out in 2011.
Half-Life 3, surely they've fucked off episode 3.
Rock Band 3-New instruments.

Okay

Nintendo :

Hardware wise I expect the 3dDS to be actually there in some form to show on stage and since they've not done it yet Multi coloured Wii's

Software wise Mario Galaxy 2 playable (its not long till its actually out) / Metroid other M playable / At least a teaser for the new Zelda / Something Starfox related

Sony :

Hardware wise , some bundling options for the Move with a cut to the bone slim PS3
The fact that you can do 3d gaming 'now' on your PS3 (with a Sony TV and other stuff)
I think we'll see stuff about the PSP2

Software wise , longer gameplay trailer on Last Guardian / something about Infamous 2 / a teaser for Uncharted 3 , more on FFXIV (possibly Sony Exclusive?)

Microsoft :

Hardware - some bundles for Natal , I *dont* think we'll see a slim , after all their hardware issues (many of which were heat related) i dont think shrinking things down into a smaller case would be good for them
Again they will mention that the Xbox can do 3d 'now'
A lot on their idea that you can game and play anywhere and its all linked together so more "Live" integration stuff with phones and windows

No idea software wise - Fable 3 and some of the stuff we know is arriving later in the year - Halo reach / Dead Rising 2 , and more "exclusive(*)" DLC for games - a Treyarch Call of Duty game ? , Dead space 2 stuff

(*) for a little while

One of my mates has a brother whos one of Rare's lead programmers. Apparently they've been working on a Wii Sports ripoff for Natal, so I'll be surprised if that isn't announced.

He had a go on it and reckoned it was fun, but he ain't exactly much of a gamer.

Ho, ha ha, tell it again! Since when has that stopped them? I agree completely, but some things sell, and (for some reason) slim is one of those things. I would hope that all of the design process upgrades for the 360 "to make it better" have also had a secondary design criteria of slim 360 in it. I wouldn't be surprised to see one at all.
Halo reach is beta before then, allegedly, so would be surprised to see them announce it there. Reckon this pointless Natal thing will be the big release. doubt it will be bundled (explicitly) with the slim, bundling two new things is a missed opportunity. You bundle to sell, why bundle something new? If the slim needs bundling, don't release it, and vice versa.
Also think Sega will release their new console. What?

Sony: a new controller where you don't hold anything-instead you swipe at the air and some sort of camera translates your movements onto the screen.

Nintendo: A new controller where you don't hold anything-instead you swipe at the screen and some sort of touch sensitive membrane translates your movements onto the game. (actually, this would be better in a handheld).
