Go.

Tell me what a complete cunt I am, what you don't like about me. I tell you what, if you're having a bad day come and score all your points on me here.

At least that way a perfectly good thread about a game won't get ruined.

You can even make it sticky if you like.

We're an Internet forum, not a support group. If you say stupid things you can expect to be called out on it from time to time. There's no difference between the discussion in the Just Cause thread and calling Craster a pillock over that grenade thing.

The only personal slight of substance in that thread was when you brought up my long distance relationship.

There is a good reason piracy discussion is discouraged on UGVM, not because we are all rabidly pro or anti-pirate, but becuase regardless of the individual views, it always ends in this sort of relentless argumentative bullshit! :D

Well I don't call others out on their actions or quirks. I just put it down to them being who they are and that's how they are. I certainly don't need to pull any one up on any thing. Each to his own and all that.

I don't even know what the reason for that piracy discussion was. I tried as hard as I could not to get into it but it's a tad bit difficult when it's being brought up. The bit about the long distance relationship? Just one of your quirks and what makes you you. What I meant of course was that I could bring that up from time to time and point out what a mistake I think you're making but wouldn't as it's not something I would do. Why would I want to question people over their choices? So of course that wasn't personal, just me saying that we all do and say things that might seem stupid to others and it's a bit 'wanker' to bring them up and rub them in.

I'm not looking for a pat on the back for buying games. I'm not looking for acceptance. I wasn't the one to bring it up. I simply started joining in the discussion yet all of a sudden I am asked if I stole it or brought it. Why? Did I ask any one else that question or even say "wow this game is great, buy it or else you're thieving wankers".

To that ends I am not sure why you even asked me that, and even more confused as to what you were getting at. All I can imagine (as it did seem a bit spiteful) is that you're either in the mood for an argument or feel like playing some point scoring game? no idea.

There is one last possible reason of course. And that's if I take what you said literally about me saying stupid things and you pointing it out. What the fuck did I say? you were the one asking me if I had brought it. I don't recall bringing up any such thing before hand, just how good I thought the game was and how much I was enjoying it. Maybe I've said something elsewhere that's annoyed you? fuck knows.

Any way, here I am wasting more time and discussing something I really can't be fucked to discuss. I try as hard as I can to do the right thing and with regards to JC2 I will. Just not right now at this very second.

Well indeed. Maybe it's annoying when I preach on about buying games and the importance of? Well, as I have said we all have our quirks and different POVs. I don't feel the need to point out everyone's as it's not for me to do.

Infact tbh I don't even find myself getting annoyed over it as other people's quirks don't affect me in any way at all. So I certainly wouldn't get all annoyed about it.

Live and let live, and all that.

Drama? On the internet? AGAIN?!

What caused it this time? [edit: I just want a link really, not a 20-page retrospective if someone feels inclined to do that]

Meh. I'd forgotten about that old rant; classic reading, at least for me.
Those were the days; we used to have some fantastic discussions at the 'old place'. Nowadays I just feel like a jaded, cynical old bastard who can't get excited about much. Eight years is a long time.

There was a link about this posted @ WoS; apparently some minor uproar at Messrs. Milliband and Milliband helping themselves to BBC copyrighted material for their amusing little viral campaign (which has marvelously backfired on them by all accounts), without even bothering to ask either the BBC, Philip Glennister or Audi for that matter. In a word, clueless.

Well yeah, true enough Doc. :o

Still, I suppose it's (slightly) morally better in retaliation, at least in my eyes. (Not that this would cut much ice if being prosecuted for copyright infringement, granted. :) )

True, but a 'lesser cunt' is still better than a 'greater cunt'.

Hey, 'owzat for the basis of an uncontentious viral marketing campaign? I'm onto something here:

'Vote Tory, we're demonstrably less cunty than the opposition!!1!'

Not that I entirely agree with your analysis, but to be half serious for a moment here. I'm no fan of Cameron, but his party is much more closely aligned to my own views than the others, at least concerng matters of the economy (in many other respects, I am a Liberal).

But even if we accept your statement at face value, I argue it's still valid to vote for the least bad choice, in lieu of actually standing yourself as an independent?

I'd like to know what the Tories policy is on John Coffey.

Would they allow him to play yarred games for a longer period than Labour before he committed to purchasing? Should Alienware cases be in a special "G.A.Y.E." tax band?

Going serious, yes, I agree. I just have no real idea who the least bad candidate is. For example I live in a Tory constituency; my local MP is aligned OK with a few of my opinions, but I disagree with the Tory's social policies and he's a record of voting against gay rights, which I'm not happy about. When I look at the other candidates, and the other parties, there's always some dealbreaker in their policies and their decision histories. Which is a bit tricky, really.

I maintain that everyone should vote via a set of questions like those on politicalcompass.org, and the candidates should answer the same questions. Whichever candidate you score closest to is the one your vote counts for.

Indeed. And you could say ‘Well, if you mostly agree with them, vote for them’, but there's always a deal-breaker, and I'd be ashamed to be even partly responsible for them getting into power should they do anything I really disagree with. I'd be appalled if I voted Labour in last election, having seen the shit they've tried and/or succeeded in pushing through.

What if the candidate couldn't run a bunfight in a bakers? Under our system, a selection of MPs become ministers, responsible for large complicated organisations (which are bit trickier than the student union's entertainments committee).

I was wondering why this thread had been dignified with so many responses. Apart from the first few posts it's all been about the General Election!

My preference would be for a no party affiliation system, where individuals stand locally and are chosen because of what they say and do, not which colour tie they wear.

I'd also like the people who are in charge of various thingys, to actually have had some training and experience in the role, rather than just being put at home secretary because it is their turn and chancellor was already taken by the ex environment secretary, which he got because the education minister had a hissy fit and complained about there being no minorites in the cabinet, or something...

Currently, the person supposedly running our economy and trying to take us out of recession is a guy who only got the job because he looked moderately less creepy than the guy standing next to him come election day. And he kissed an extra baby.

I don't know, how about hiring somebody to run the economy who has been through university in economics, run successful businesses, has shown ability and passion and has a track record of success in economic factors and circumstance. Sure, make him/her/them answerable to the ministers and let the minsters define the broad strokes, but give the responsibilty of defining and implementing the actual changes necessary to someone who has proved they have a better understanding of what the fuck they are doing.

Meh, what do I know...
