Early 2000 dance music with a strong female lead vocal. Released plenty of songs which did alright in the charts. Not Fragma or Capella, but something like that.

No - turns out it was Fragma. I'm a dick who should have scrolled past the two million remixes of Toca's Miracle (which has a 2008 re-release, I've just noticed) ;)

They're not exactly 'early 2000', are they?
Let Me Be Your Fantasy was released eighteen years ago (although it only hit the charts sixteen years ago).

You (old) idiot.

I know it isn't the group Grim... was talking about, but I had to do a quick search to find out who did 'set you free'.

It was N-Trance. Of course.

N-Trance were awesome right up to Stayin' Alive. They also did a fantastic song called Set Me Free (which was originally called the Arsehole Remix of Set You Free), which no-one cared about :(

Did they do Electronic Pleasure as well? That was good.

[edit]Yes, they did. And the woman sung on Flip & Fill's True Love Never Dies, which is also an ace song.

Mind of the Machine was ok, some of the remixes were at least.

I loved Set You Free (eeeee....eeeeeee!).

no idea why, I had nothing but contempt for commercial dance then.

also, Baby D had a great remix of LMBYF out that had a nice DnB (or Jungle, whatever) ending.

my fave dance song of that era (possibly earlier) has to be Gypsy Woman by Crystal Waters. Best keyboard riff ever.

That's just the album version rather than the radio edit. :nerd:

My friends had some drinks in a bar with the lass that sang on 'set you free' (Kelly Loretta?) on holiday in Greece and said she was really nice, and quite hot. But then I thought she looked like a bit ropey in the video with the curly hair and that nasty fish-net style dress :(

I remember the album being quite good, we used to have it on in the car quite a bit, and it was a few years old even then.
