I don't suppose we have anyone here in Bath do we? I've been offered a week's work experience at PC Gamer next week, but I don't have anywhere to stay.

There are some decent hostels in Bath. OK, you still would have to pay for them, but as a last resort it's worth considering.
We stayed at a YHA in a big house up a hill somewhere but I forget what it's called. It was OK though, and did breakfast in the mornings.
