Good games yesterday (apart from that silentsnipex guy who made me want to tear out his heart and smash it against his face until he died - something about people who have 'sniper' or similar in their name are always cunts)

Decided I give up on trying to max out the Barrett and indeed any sniper rifle. Trying to get 40 bullet penetration kills with an assault rifle is tedious enough but with a sniper rifle it's ludicrous (especially given all the other challenges are extremely easy in comparison to an AR) and no fun at all.

@zaphod-it has been a bit frustrating having to use the pre-made classes however they are fairly generous with the weapons/attachments/perks so even when I have had custom slots back I have sometimes just been usin the pre-made ones.
I miss some of my favourite things like ninja, cold blooded, silencers, claymore... But at the same time I am trying out different things. I have started using lmgs which I hadn't touched prior to prestiging.
I also only just entered prestige and the rate of progress is brilliant. I am still maintaining fairly decent scores and have already got back red dot sight and silencer on one gun.
Overall, I'd say it has been mildly frustrating but worth it once I have unlocked my guns and perks again. That class slot is pretty valuable.

Try an LMG with a front grip and perhaps Sleight of Hand for faster aiming. I had a rollicking good time with an LSW fitted out in this way.

I do like a blinged Aug Hbar with RDS and Grip.

Also, Meaty, I found the sniper FMJ kills came pretty naturally using the Barrett. Don't try specifically for them, but leave FMJ as Perk 1. You'll get 'em eventually.

Nah, I find in games I'm either good at sniping or I suck. And in CoD, I suck. So I'm not going to bother.

And i dont know what was up with Jen - but i couldnt kill her and she kept killing me ! (i think i got her once in capture the flag)

You might try playing more hardcore games as it just seems ever so slightly easier to get kills with sniper rifles, hand guns and the like.

The matchmaking on this seems to get really confused at times , when it does that you can either go through everyone hosting individually (until you find one that works) or have people try to join while the game is in progress.

Its annoying how often it goes from a small group of us in the first lobby , joining up with another group and you hear the "oh we've lost someone" , so everyone backs out and its tried again and again

Aye, it was being really pissy again last night, so much so I turned my xbox off in a huff.

I wish they would let you have a different group of classes, particularly killstreak rewards (ksr) setup for different game modes. For instance, playing free for all on rust I will always change my ksr to UAV, care package and sentry gun/harrier/pavelow...whereas in a normal team death match I would use harrier, pavelow and nuke. I find it a right pain having to go in and out of ksr screen everytime we change mode...this is particularly annoying in mosh pit.

I was going to play this last night, but couldn't be arsed playing the lobby game so I started the campaign on l337 instead. Completed the Gulag & called it a night, bloody good fun.

I totally agree about the killstreak rewards. I thought it odd when I first played that they were seperated from the create a class section and it really is very annoying when playing Mosh Pit. My usual kill steak set up is useless when playing something like Free for All as you mentioned, or even Search and Destroy when simply don't have enough people to shoot at to get you more than 7 or 8 kills when you're on your A game!

It has to be an omission on their part, as they had the presence of mind to do it with Deathstreaks (and what a waste of time they are). Twats.

I loved going through it on 1337. If ever you're stuck for a game I'm always up for Spec Ops.

I turned my mic off and put the headset down near the end as Lady T had just got home, and I'm sure you lot didn't want to hear me asking her if she enjoyed going to see a live strictly come dancing show with her parents. This distraction coincided with me being worse than usual and taking a hella long time to notice the 'fish' gag.

Lady T watched for a bit, and asked if people make fun of me for being so shit at the game :'(

We did have quite a lot of fun last night.
When most people had left and it was Gill, Jen, Wullie, Sailor and I we were playing mosh pit. And this clan of redneck americans got matched with us and as soon as we started speaking they got rather angry at the fact we were British. One guy was so angry he kept shouting in his mic so much we couldnt hear anything but static. Anyway we destoryed them in various game modes for about 45mins-1hour. My favourite was domination on terminal where I went 49-13 and got accused of using the care package glitch,a: I dont even know how to use it, b: my killstreaks were pred-harrier-stealth, and c; I was just clearly better than them.
They also claimed to want to sue me for stealing their clan tag. LOLZ

Really enjoyed those games of search I played with gill and jen last night.
Somehow we all managed to do really well and win all the games we played, I think it was mainly because the other team weren't very good, but they accused us of either cheating or just being too good :D

Some good games last night - although the lobby seems to be where we spend most of our time :-)
(and i still say there should be a perk or achievement which would let you skin it so your not just looking at swirling smoke).

In answer to SDG's question last night - no i havent prestiged yet and still not sure if i will.

I'm about 7 FMJ kills off maxing the first sniper rifle and about 10 off my current gun (the p90 SMG) , but i'm thinking i can just swap to another gun and keep my steady aim pro / cold blooded pro / bling pro stuff and max them out now rather than going back around and having to climb up to the top with the basic perks again (oh and i'm about 15 one hit kills off the unlock of the 3rd gillie suit)

When i got to 70 i had never used a sniper rifle - and rather than going back to the start i just made up a class with one and have been using it (plus the M1014 shotgun for close up stuff) , having another class slot would be really nice but i dont know if i will do it or not (or am i missing the point?)

I'm debating whetehr or not to Prestige a second time. Doing it the first time was cool as I got some symbols and stuff, an extra custom slot and a new set of challenges (there's a 'Prestige' section of challenges below the 'Intimidation' ones, or whatever the last set is called).

Not sure I want to Prestige again, as I won't get another custom slot or more challenges to do.

Plus I've spent so long trying to get certain guns and perks up to be maxed that I don't want to have to start again if I'm just 30 miles shy of getting Lightweight VI.

Hmmm...

*scratches chin*

I hate that stuff. All I can see is the individual images moving across eachother.

I couldn't be arsed last night. I was having such incredibly bad games and seemed to be up against teams of crack-shots each and every time.

Nah - for the first game you were up against us ! :-) (SDG supplied the cornbread)

I've found that sometimes you get the enemies who all do one shot kills while your pumping 200 bullets into them and other times your 'invincible' (or at least can take 3 or 4 direct hits and stay alive) - some of it will be the host , some is luck , and some is skill.

The telling part is watching the killcams for those - when you've pumped 200 bullets directly into them and they randomly shot once in your direction - and you see in the killcam you never hit them - they are looking at you from a different angle and lined up a perfect headshot.

As for the prestige stuff i probably will - but right now i'm going to play around with the other guns while i'm powered up (things like the AK you need to do at level 70 anyway) - and i doubt i'll prestige a 2nd time

Heh. I did surprisingly well in those games, but quickly deteriorated afterward, so much that I don't think I moved off the bottom of the leaderboard all night. I had one decent game early on with a killstreak of eight or nine, but it didn't last.

And you know you're up against a load of nobs when they've all set up near-identical gamer tags.

Like fishy things , you know [Carp] and the like ?

The other way you tell is that they are all prestieged to roughly the same level.

Or for me its when we play Search and Destroy which i'm pretty much always at the bottom of the table

Nope, not the clan, the actual gamer tag.

[clan] ELiTe <name>, for example.

This was weird, too. Modded Xbox, apparently.

My american impressions are really getting out of hand when I've got a drink in me. Jen told me off for trying to give people into trouble for cheating so we decided it was time for us to leave ;)

Yeah, that's a modded xbox. His profile had his name as ElizTze something or something like that so it only showed up in game mode.

I'm up to the 5th prestige now. Got 8 custom slots in total which is nice. Im only going to go up to 9 tho, as the 10th logo thingy is god awful
