Does anyone know of a 4 or 5 way SCART splitter that is switched and each socket is fully isolated and switches all the pins? I want no signals passing to anything other than the item that is switched in.

This is for my retro corner. Because of the weird and wonderful outputs of all the consoles I'm having a few issues. TV has one SCART but even so called "switched" splitters that I have actually don't isolate each socket properly. This causes issues as some of the consoles output wierd and wonderful levels (as confirmed by the multimetre). On their own they are fine, but for example have the Amiga turned on and the Dreamcast fan will spin up!

So fully isolated sockets are the way to go and are what I need.

Anyone using a good unit for their own retro corners?

I'm also getting closer to why the Amiga gives a slightly shimmering image on the LCD and am in contact with the people who sell the leads. I reckon the sync level is too high. Attenuate the voltage on pin 20 and you get a solid picture. Resistors are on order!

Maplins did a good one that I used for a year or two. Smart Scart however I've had 2 of them and both have died after 12-18 months or so.

Not sure I like the idea of it deciding what to select. Also no indication it will isolate the other sockets as I want. A physical switch would be best.

I suspect that such a thing, if it does exist, would be quite expensive.

I had horrendous crossover problems prior to buying one. It isolated and cleaned up all ghosting I had on the screen. The selector works on the basis of "if I've got a signal, then yowm watching it". I just turned stuff off that I wasn't, y'know, watching.

I suspect what you need is less scart switcher and more media distribution amp. You may get a pretty cheap one since your needs are entirely analogue and distinctly stereo

I actually have a media distribution amp type thingy that I no longer need. It sounds like it'll do what you want as it comes with a remote control that switches which SCART you want to display on the TV.

Someone on the forum (I can't remember who.. sorry) sent it me a while ago but since I've had a new TV I no longer need it.

If you want it, it's yours for the price of the postage. It will take up a bit of shelf though... If you're interested, I'll get some finer details of it when I get home.
